Saw Kenny right before the pandemic. Him and Mikey did 2 shows here as the spirit squad. And let me tell you... Kenny still has it! I was shocked at how good he was in 2020

He's turned into a smaller version of Kane: A guy that will do whatever is asked of him, no matter how goofy the gimmick is, makes filet mignon out of hamburger more often than not, fills in at the last minute when dudes get hurt or suspended and is always ready to go, and is pretty decent on the mic. I hope he gets one more title run at least. He makes everyone he works with look like a million bucks.

Kenny Dykstra and Johnny Jeter were the best spirit squad members. Johnny's drop kick's and enziguri's were amazing. Kenny was that little boy on the Lex express when Lex Luger was doing his American gimmick in WWF.

I think we can all agree that Spirit Squad had become a fond memory to people who are there when they're on their primetime. Yes, most of us thinking that those 'cheerleaders' are just messing around at that time, but it a good entertainment TBH. It is amazing he overcame being Kerwin White's caddy and a cheerleader who lost every night to have as long of a career as he has had.

I remember going to live events, where the second their cheerleader theme music hit, you would have thought the #1 heel on the roster was coming out. They were fun to boo.

Dolph Ziggler and also Heath Slater (when he was still in WWE) did things right when it comes to wrestling. They were up for about anything and more importantly, they really sold their opponents moves. Which is something a lot of wrestlers still refuses to do properly.

I remember going to a house show featuring a 6-man tag of the Spirit Squad vs. HBK, Flair, and Big Show. Fun times.

I think the reason Dolph lasted as long as he did was that year of the Spirit Squad let him know this is what the day to day of a career in wrestling is, you'll win sometimes. you'll lose sometimes, sometimes your the champ, sometimes your the challenger, sometimes your booked strong, others you have to take the L, but do what's asked of you and you'll be fine. Now him understanding I'm not the guy who is going over helped and he didn't push but also not upsetting people helps also because one of his tag partners hooked up with Torrie Wilson which fractured her relationship with someone else. So not making certain people mad was another lesson. So he was right that hus year in the Spirit Squad while goofy taught him so much to last his career.

It still makes me mad that Kenny didn’t make it in WWE. He was great.

I feel like I’ve seen many people in and out of the business poopoo the spirit squad over the years but I think they absolutely worked!! They did they’re job very well! Got great heat and were involved with top guys! Idk why that’s ever seen as a failure of some sort! I hated them as a kid because I was supposed! Now In retrospect I’m like damn they were awesome! The fact that Dolph is still here and became a world champ after being with them is part of the reason he’s one of my all time favs!

To be under the learning tree of Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Triple H and Dusty Rhodes. Ziggler, The Miz, Kofi, Sheamus, Orton and Woods are the new veterans. Ken is one of the producers backstage and Ziggler is still the highlight of the night in every match he does. The matches in NXT against Bron and Carmelo definitely push both to the next level.

Never thought about that level of training he got early on-mentorship really is a cheat code.

Dolph is still one of my favorite wrestlers from any premotion from any era.

I will never understand why they never tried to push Dolph back into the main event after his injury caused him to vacate the title. He is very damn good in the ring and can sell his butt off.

I read kenny dykstar profile in wikipedia back then, he was probably the brightest star on paper for wwe of all time. I think he was trained since he was 13 or 14 to be a pro wrestler by one of the great old names. Did eveything right had passion talent determination look and youth on his side. I think politics behind the scene ate him up.

The only to survive the spirit squad and have a successful career staying with the company after all the cuts and still puts on great matches and can make everyone look good in the ring.......also in my opinion is the GOAT at selling any attack

He's underrated and will never reach his potential because he never left WWE. He never evolved, never got the respect of the wrestling audience, and never gained a following like he would have if he'd left WWE and worked everywhere else for a while. I think he could have spent 3-5 years other places and come back a bigger star with a reinvented version of himself.

Yeah The Spirit Squad was supposed to be a vehicle to get Kenny over as a future star but sadly it didn't work out apparently because of an incident with Mickie James and John Cena and Nicky AKA Dolph Ziggler was really the fourth best member on the squad so Dolph as come a long way since being in The Spirit Squad.

I remember when they told that he's going to cash in and win his first world title and then Vince said "he's going to win the title but we're not going with him as main event star". Sadly he never believed in Ziggler. HHH did but not Vince.
