Why has she completely stopped speaking to the media? I know that if I was her I would share all financial records as per law and also be as open and transparent, to clear MY name. Just to clarify: The FBI does NOT decide whether or not to file charges against a suspect. In cases like this (Public Corruption) they work with an AUSA (Assistant United States Attorney) or if big enough, directly with the USA (United States Attorney.) The Bureau is strictly (supposedly) an investigative arm of the Dept of Justice. They get information, request subpoenas, when appropriate, from the AUSA, and make arrests as directed by that AUSA. So ultimately any action in Dalton will be up to the USA. This is a high profile case so I suspect that not only is the USA involved, people back in WDC are in the decision tree. Rachelle Aud Crowe is the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.
