Good input but the fact is the IR night vision will reflect off the dust in front of a bullet camera just as it does with a dome camera. You have mixed two issues. Some dome cameras do not have a tight seal between the lens and the dome. This allows the IR light to reflect off the dome back into the lens. The old domes had this problem. The new domes do not. The IR reflecting off dust is universal with night vision cameras. We have hundreds of video examples from both domes and bullets showing this effect.

​@@BackstreetCameras highly disagree. Been in the security industry for 15 years. Most domes suck outside, period. Uv discoloration and ir reflection is so much worse with domes than with turrets and bullets.. why do you think most ptzs are moving to domeless

I do not know of a system worth owning at the $300 mark. With security cameras you get what you pay for. The PTZ option is at the other end of the scale price wise. I'd look at some solutions in between. The one thing I know for sure is keep your $300, there is no system that works well at that price point. Read reviews. Hope this helps.

Sadly low cost systems save money by putting an unsuitable video processor in them. I think its likely the system does not have the processing power needed for all the cameras. Remove a few cameras and see if the others speed up. If they do, its just a low quality unit. Sorry hope this helps.

Narrow long corridors between homes can be hard to cover (long and skinny), the key is being able to adjust the cameras view. We would recommend a camera with either a manual zoom lens or motorized zoom lens. Being able to easily adjust the cameras view is the key. Also spiders. Cant leave webs on dome but like to put one on shade protector. IR + webs + wind is hundred alerts on one night. Usually at high place where cant reach easy.

Hi Garret, yes it is a turret, we use the terminology most people use, we speak with thousands of customers a month and the overwhelming term used to describe that style of camera is "dome" not turret. At exactly 11 seconds into the video I explain its also called a turret style housing. Thanks for the comment.

They are IP67 rated which means you can drop them in a bucket of water and the only thing you will see is crystal clear video, they are completely water tight. Thanks for the question.

@@BackstreetCameras I wonder if insect spray will harm the paint, or make the camera a sticky mess, the sprays always seem thick and sticky after you spray them.
