I was 7 or 8, I believe, and my Sister, 13 years my senior, brought the 45rpm and played it over and over. She then learned it on her guitar and would play it for me. I had no idea what the words meant as it was in French. But regardless, it touched me deeply. Years went by and the song seemed to get lost. Flash foward to today,( 8/18/2022), and this song came back to me. Looking it up here on KZfaq, I listened to 3 versions. Still, a beautiful, wonderful song.

It fits me too that's why I used Mary FORD'S English rendition. I had no idea this song talked so much about people who just talk about the Lord. That is amazing. I'm 54 only heard about this song through her book Debbie Reynolds story. Her husband pop star singer' Eddie fisher' wasn't happy with this little songs huge success or anything else Debbie did especially on stage. She tried , tried, keeping it together. Eddie ignore her push her away with his hand. At dinner in front of company. Where everybody act like they don't knowtice but really do. Everybody Relieved when theyer our.
