Domio has screwed thousands of their backers and is not delivering product as promised. Stay the hell away from this company because they will screw you at every turn. They're not honoring their no-questions-asked refund policy. From the reports that I've seen their product is crap. I wouldn't know personally because they don't deliver the products that they promised to deliver. These people are thieves and outright scumbags. They need to be put out of business so they can't keep taking advantage of people.

Great review thanks. I used to live in Fallowfield but I'm now in Florida. Love it when you go for rides in the neighborhood. Brings back memories of that area. Also loved watching your trip to Nfld. I also used to live in Truro. Keep up the great channel.

@@petertousignant6566 just like all Kickstarter style items these are small companies that can get bombarded by way more sales then they were prepared for. I have many Kickstarter campaigns that I have backed that I have been waiting between 1-2 years for the items and still am waiting. Seems like you don't understand how Kickstarter campaigns work. I'll get those items when they are ready to ship. Plus they will ship to certain countries first. I have no association with this company but since they are located in Canada we were fortunate enough to get a unit very early in the process. We are reviewing the product on our channel and not the company.

With the Domio mounted on the left side, did the sound seem louder on the left, or was the sound still pretty even all around?

you cant tell by the sound where it's mounted. the sound seems to come out of everywhere. Definitely doesn't have a dominance based on where it's mounted.

You can totally tell that it is mounted on one side. They need a second one on the other side. It is plain not loud on the road without a wind screen enough eventhough it is very loud.

Good review, thanks for that! Seems positive, when there's been a lot of negative about Domio. I'm waiting on two Pro versions, and looking forward to getting them asap, which is looking like for next riding season now (I'm in Canada too). I'm wondering if some of the other reviews on the sound were based on helmet style, and possible windshield vs no windshield?! I don't have one so I reckon the extra heavy wind noise would mask the sound of the audio. Just seeing you open'er up for a few seconds on that open road with some tunes going made me want to be out there! Nice bike(s)!

haven't put the bikes away quite yet, but soon. Pretty sure it could happen any time now. Hope to be able to get the Pro version before the winter comes! Would be great to test. Definitely had fun punching it for a bit on that road! Sad when we have to put the bikes away for the winter! And I agree that there are many variables that could cause sound issues. But for me I was really happy with the sound. If I get the Pro before winter ill try with an open face style helmet.

How is the music when you break it down into Highs Med and Lows? Does it all sound like mids? I'm guessing vocals will be good, bass not so much and high pitch sort of filtered out

Hi there, great review. Sound wise, what would it compare? I'm a big bass fan and I also have the Orange and Black (BT-S2 i think) audio device mount (think you had it on you video last year when you mentioned Domio Pro), the sound on that is ok, but can't really enjoy the quality. I know it's no Bose audio or anything like that but for riding could you say it was just ok, or was it "most impressive" as my Imperial father would say?

Sergio Brinckhaus so far I’d say this definitely has better sound than any of the previous motorcycle headphones I’ve tried. But definitely more expensive than the BT-S2 comms.

The bass is ok. Actually better than I thought it would be. But I’ve never found any motorcycle headsets to be very bass heavy. And you should be able to hear anything that comes through your Bluetooth not just music.

UPDATE - Do yourself a favour guys and check out other reviews. Thanks for the review 👍 You mentioned audio is better than other headphones you’ve used. Are you referring to the stock headphones that come with different manufacturers? The stock headphones with a lot of systems aren’t that spectacular. I’ve bought myself some JBL (3.5mm jack) that come with Cardo Bold. Use them with my Sena 10c Pro. Sound a lot better than stock. Rich full sound. Good bass (when not drowned out by booming exhaust). Highs and mids are clear and no distortion. I think the idea of this system is great, and obviously they did their research, however it’d be hard to deliver decent and consistent quality sound across the vast amount materials used in different helmets. I’m sure there’s helmets and materials that deliver better sound. As long as I have a decent helmet aerodynamically, at least I know the sound I’ll get from my JBL’s.

Yes im speaking of stock head sets. For me though the biggest feature of these is that I can have them fairly loud and still hear my surroundings. That I cant do with standard style headphones. But I do think that it depends on the helmet style and wind protection.

nice review and nice touring bike setup with a 360 at your bike and a gopro mounted at your helmet. I was curious about the intercom ability. Does it connect the other domio user and non domio user through intercom? I guess you ride a Versys 650. nice bike.

thanks. pretty happy now with the setup. sadly though I can't talk much about the intercom feature as I don't yet have the MOTO Pro, I just have the standard Moto, which has no comms. Just music. Hopefully ill get the Pro sometime soon. Would be great to test.

I wonder if the other reviewers are having trouble with it at high speeds because of modified exhausts? Your bike seems rather quiet compared to most bikes here down south (as in the US even though I'm only 3 hours from Mtl). I was wondering how this would fair with loud exhausts. I have been using Sena comms for several years and even those struggle when I'm on my louder bikes. Great review btw.

Tell me about it....when is a comm company going to make something with legitimate speakers? I've looked into getting different speakers for my sena and adding an amplifier. Bikes and aftermarket exhausts go hand in hand.

Is the battery replaceable or do you have to buy a new unit? What hat is the expected battery service life? What is the number of charges it will take before the battery/unit needs to be replaced?

Expected service life is 5-8 years! Should run through 1000 cycles easily. If it is damaged though, the battery is not replaceable by customer and would have to be replaced by us.

Got my Domio PRO last week. Haven't had time to try it. Have added the bracket to my helmet but that's all. looking forward to trying it out. I mainly listen to podcasts so voice will be more important than the quality of sound for me. #brass #notimportant

Cruisn Canada well, some parts appear to be missing from the box, including the mic mounting clips. And..... the Domio buttons aren’t doing anything (it’s been on charge a few hours) the unit stays on, and won’t witch off.... and, my iPhone isn’t picking up the Bluetooth signal either.......

I’d say just general off road. I can definitely hear mine plenty loud riding around town and even on the highway. But I have good wind protect. Many that complain are riding with limited to zero wind protection and with half helmets. All of that are factors.

actually, I think it does have an impact on the sound. I read somewhere on domio's website about that. I think the rear or top is the best, but I have mine on the side as it is the easiest to reach while riding.

I think it worked for you because you have a huge full windshield so there is no crazy winds going through your helmet. But for everyone else when you get above certain speeds the wind will disrupt how the domio works and it won't be clear anymore. So this product really is only for adventure bikes that have huge windshield like yours.

If you need comms, the Pro will work perfectly fine for snowboarding. Battery will last 8-16 hours in the cold.

Thanks for your review. I was about to order and have read literally hundreds of complaints about the company on Facebook. People aren't getting customer support responses, aren't getting shipments, etc. Have you heard any of this? Do you recommend ordering or holding off?

Really hard to say. I've been in contact with them and there are times that there is a long wait between responses but I've always eventually gotten a response. The Product works pretty well and I definitely enjoy using it. I just received the MOTO PRO and will be doing some testing on that one soon.

Hello. I’m French so excuse my English : perhaps I’ll make mistakes... However. Thanks for ur footage. I just order one of this. I wonder if the sound keep enough strong in high speed ? What about the wind noise around the helmet, does it affect the sound ? Just one more question. I use to put a eats protections when I drive on highway. Did you test that with it ? Thanks ✌🏻

Fa ZINSKI thanks for the comment. I can answer a few questions. I have risen at 110-120km/h and can hear the music pretty good, BUT I do wear a full face helmet and my bike has fairly good wind protection. I you do not then the results will probably not be as good. Again I do not get a lot of wind noise because of the size of my windscreen so hard for me to give a good answer. For me the sound is quite good. Lastly I was NOT wearing any ear protection. So again if you are the results may be different. Let us know your results once you’ve tried them.

@@gregtoope Thanks a lot to took time to respond ! What motorcycle do you drive for the test ? I have a BMW GSA, so my windscreen is huge, even if i'm tall. I think that the quality of the helmet is important too. I have a SCHUBERT C3 Pro. Can't wait to receive my Domio !

Fa ZINSKI yeah if you have good wind protection it should work well. I ride a Kawasaki Versys and I have great wind protection with the windshield that I installed. And yes if you have a good (full face) helmet that will definitely help with the sound.

How does this unit work with earplugs? I couldn't tell if you wore them or not. I ride with earplugs no matter what.

Hey Michael, earplugs will affect your ability to hear for sure. BUT we actually sell earplugs on our website too which are perfectly compatible with Domio devices. These earplugs have ceramic inserts with holes in them to let only sounds of certain frequencies pass through.

Francisco Javier Ferrés the Moto version is audio only. The Moto Pro has a comm with it. And it does come with a mic and it uses an app. Supposedly the app just got released this week. I’ll be testing it shortly.

Finally got my Domio Pro yesterday after 8 months, many emails and much stress. Sounds decent in my house but haven't taken out yet on the road. Oddly, I cannot find the instructions for linking up two units together so you can talk to each other, has anyone done this? Being able to talk with my wife on the back seat is one of the main reasons I got this. And don't tell me I should be thankful for the peace! : ) Thanks!

The Moto doesnt have any comm features, but the Moto Pro does. If you have the Pro you have to get the app for these features. As of now, the iOS version isnt ready yet. SO still waiting. Supposedly the Android version is out or will be soon. At least thats what ive heard!

@@gregtoope thank you, I do have the pro, and have just learned from Domio just what you said above, the Android app is out and the iOS "should" be out in 2 weeks. We'll see. Very odd that they have been advertising this product for all this time and you can't even use a main feature of it because they haven't released the app yet, I certainly wasn't expecting that. I will say their response to messages through their Facebook page is MUCH better than through email, I actually had several exchanges with them this afternoon to learn the above info. Not immediate response but very reasonable, though I wonder if I was complaining about something rather than just asking a question the response (or lack thereof) would have been the same as with email!

Your windshield is what’s making it possible to hear the music better Verses no windshield that’d for sure.. Take shield off then take the Ride again to do a review because most guys don’t have a Windshield on there sports bikes

I confirm many have not received anything, my experience ... I received it after 50 days. Reading the various negative comments on the internet, I began to bombard them with emails and posts on all their internet channels, with few and vague answers (perhaps for this reason they sent it to me after 30 days). Last gem .... I paid customs fees :-( purchased at $ 149 but on the package they put $ 248, I paid € 68 of customs fees calculated on $ 248 !!! Opinion on the product? I don't know why you judge it positive, quality materials .... cheap plastics, audio we don't talk about it, you hear buzzing and annoying vibrations, in the long run I don't know how pleasant it is to have ringing in your ears. Product value even less than $ 50! :-(

There are SEVERAL comments out there highlighting the fact that MANY people have paid for these headsets and never received them. I’ve been following this product for some time and after the recent sales, decided to try it out with hopes of providing an online review considering the HUGE lack thereof online. As the website was just updated from “Next batch ships June 2020” to Next batch ships August 2020,” I must admit I’m becoming a little skeptical myself. I purchased under the assumption I would receive my unit within a few weeks and will be pissed if it’s been delayed another two months.

Recently received the Domio and it arrived defective. It easily paired to two different phones, but there is no audio. I have been emailing them for days and they have been giving me the run-around. All I want to do is return for working unit, but their non response is frustrating. Now I just want a full refund, I'm shipping back.

I only see 1 problem with it ,,when you stop at lights ,Like others can hear your music so they will also be able to hear your phone conversations the same way ,,and the reason you could hear your music at high speed where others cant is because you have a huge windscreen on your bike ,,most other bikes don't have screens like that especially sports bikes ,this product is a bust for me ,,i prefer to keep my phone convos private .

Definitely hear ya. We have the Pros on our helmets right now, but cant use them for comms as the software for iOS (iPhone) isnt ready yet. Was told that it should be ready soon. Hope so. Would love to actually test the software. Heres hoping you receive yours soon.

I have mine for week if your sitting outside the shop the sound is good. Get on a highway and it's another story. The sound falls apart starting at 45mph. At 55 and up its done just some noise so low it's not worth having it on. Waste of $200. I have 4 helmets i can only get it mounted on 2.

The standard model ( this one reviewed ) has no communication ability. It’s strictly for listening to audio. The Pro model will have comms. We will be getting a version of that one soon. But as far as I can tell it is app based and will only communicate with other domio pros. So I doubt it’ll work with other brands. Again not 100% sure. Hope to have a video in regards to the pro soon.

KZOI DKI yes and no. If you are out on your own (which I do a lot) and just want music and or your gps directions then this is perfect. I will be getting their Pro version which has some kind of com in it. Will be testing that soon.

I just got mine. I you want it I will sell it to you. Over 35mph you will hear less and less of your song, by 50 you can hardly tell what song it is, by 70 you can hardly hear any of the sound. Of course in my case I ride with an open face helmet and no windshield and that will certainly impact the results. Also you have to mount it on one side or the other if you mount it on top it won't be very loud at all once you are riding. I think they should add a second unit for the other side so they are on both sides and add a subwoofer, version 2.1 if you will.

I purchased a set of the pros to take on a motorcycle trip from Florida to West Virginia, so my wife and I could talk and listen to music. Had I read some of the reviews on shipping time I would not have purchased. My vacation is over and still no Domio. I have emailed several times and no reply. If they don't step up their game they are gonna be out of business before they start! I don't care how good their product is I want my money back.

I have this before I return it because the first one the sound is worst and then they send me a replacement device,it really worst you can not hear the sound..the problem is when you want to return it there's no phone number only email and they took so long to respond...until now I'm asking for the return label they still not send me to return the defective device,dont buy this or else you gonna repent in the end

Well, that's not the experience that I've had. Pretty quick with responses, but I've also had no issues with the unit. The sound is good. And I was listening to this unit until I had to put the bike away for the season. Pretty happy with it actually.

@@gregtoope try to listen about 90 mph you can't hear and after that the device you will hear the sound is not clear any more, if you're running about 40mph or lower the sound is perfect but if you run higher than 60 mph up you can hear the sound so tiny then the quality of the sound is not good it's like a cracked sound bass..

@@scootlinejoxymv733 I was driving at 130+ Km/h which is over 80mph. And the sound was fine. But I do have decent wind protection and a full-face helmet. But the sound was plenty loud and I could understand everything.

FACT: sticking crap on your helmet can be VERY UNSAFE in a crash. These products shouldn't even be legal .. almost all racing organizations do not allow competitors to stick stuff on helmets.

Its a very poor product & atrocious customer service. I would completely avoid unless you want helmet music only for things like snowboarding / mountain biking. You can't use this product as an intercom and the sound at speed on a motorbike is not good. The company are totally out of integrity in terms of doing what they say, when they say they will and once you lose your patience with them via eMail communication then they ignore you. They avoid taking any responsibility for anything other than TAKING YOUR MONEY. I am so disappointed I fell for this product and even more disappointed with the company for ignoring my polite questions regards how to return & refund.

Real review: not worth it. 1. Sound quality is shit even in different helmets, no bass 2. Even worse at high speeds 3. Bluetooth gets a lot of interference in cities Waited a year and a half for it 😕

I'm going to completely disagree with you. I've tried over a dozen different motorcycle intercom style units and if you compare them to traditional earbuds/headphones you are going to be disappointed. Helmet units are never in the correct place around your ears. They hurt over time and I've never had a set that had any kind of bass. These are definitely one of the better sounding units that I have tried, plus absolutely no pressure on your ears. The helmet fits as it was supposed to. Plus you get the bonus of still being able to hear things around you, which is a huge plus. Do they disconnect? Mine never did and I rode around all day, so if yours are then I would look at anything around you that may be causing interference. And sadly that may just be a limit of Bluetooth where you live. Bluetooth runs on a 2.4ghz signal which is highly used by wifi thus you can have interference in densely populated areas. In regard to high speed - I was at 130-140kms/h with no issues. Now I do have a good-sized windscreen that helps, but if you are wearing a half helmet on a naked bike with no protection don't expect anything to work! You're getting blasted with an enormous amount of wind noise and nothing is going to change that.

You all are either very bad at math or lying to customers. If it were true, I would have received my order. because none of my experiences are negative. The only thing negative was that there was a long wait between some email response. But other than that all my experiences have been good. I only hope that the software for the Moto Pro comes out soon. But with the quarantine you cant expect things to be on time.
