Loved Don. He was a very sweet man. Saw his show in Vegas and he sent a bottle of champagne to everyone he had picked on and had a couple celebrating their anniversary come on the stage and dance

Rickles was so goddamn fast. This is a form of comedy called "crowd work" you really have to keep the crowd invested. Hard to do but he was a master.

Ola Magg & Rash, It was an honor to be insulted by Rickles back in the day. All his insult material was adlibbed, all improvised. Insult comedy was his forte, however, none of it was said with meanness or bad intentions. Rickles' quick wit was unchallenged because he was highly intelligent, a brilliant man. Now you know. Ciao. I grew up listening to Don Rickles, nobody or race was safe from him. People felt honored to be roasted by Don Rickles. A time when people laughed at things and weren't offended about everything, a much simpler time. He was one of the nicest guys in hollywood though. I really miss those days!

Only Rickles can comedically insult you by low-key calling you a whore and casually follow that up with "I live right next to her and she never comes by to say hello." In spite of being an insult comic, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who had a bad word to say about Don. In reality he was a very sweet guy who at the end of every show would explain that it was all in good fun and he holds no ill will toward anyone. RIP, Don.

I'm 60 and have lived during and thru those times..And believe you me, it was the bestest of time EVER...Yes, just like in any eras it has it's trials and tribulations, but still it was WAY better than what we have now or going on now..I wouldn't trade those times, those years for anything...Movies, music, comedies, daily tv shows, was all better imo...Cheers..

@@jacobdehaan4114 Yes, I do feel lucky..I have two beautiful nieces, one is 22 and 20 years old, they both say they wish they had grown up in the 80's, The 80's I was about YOUR age and it too was the best of times. Here's the funny thing tho. When I was your age, I wish I had grown up in the 50's ( be a teen ) also of the 60s, tho I was just a kid in the 60's just wish I was also a teen in the 60's too. It's very refreshing to know there are some young people who enjoy things of the past and wish they had lived or grown up during those times..With that, you sound like an awesome young man. Seeing Paul Lynde is an oof moment. They guy was a perpetual side character, always tried but never made it as a star of a TV show. He came close only once, his pilot got greenlit, and his co-star went out, got drunk to celebrate, and his costar jumped out a 3 story window and died. The show was canceled, and lynde never came close to stardom again.
