I really appreciate when you bring up a term like "backfilling" and then show the definition of the term. You've done this is a number of the your videos and it's ridiculously helpful, especially for us newbies. I also haven't seen my other channels do this. This is overall great advice. The first situation is what I went through and here I am 6 months later, spending most of my free time self-teaching programming and most recently C++ (Programming Principles and Practice Using C++ by Stroustrup Bjarne for those reading this comment) to get OUT of the job and into a career. Yep. One of the worse jobs I had was a quick interview process. I was so blinded that they were offering a bit more than I was used to making (Which wasn't a lot in hindsight). I didn't find out that the person I was replacing was only there for 6 weeks until maybe about a week or two in. I take blame for not asking that at the only interview I had. Great vid

Wanted to add a 4th red flag: NOT asking technical questions. I ended up joining a company that had an interview process similar to the process described in this video. 1 hour long interview, then an offer. No technical questions, every question was fairly straightforward and superficial. Not knowing better, I accepted the offer that they sent me a day or 2 later, I joined a team with little to no technical depth and found myself doing a _ton_ of handholding for at least a couple of other ‘developers’. Having that technical bar is not only necessary, but the quality of the hiring process will reflect the type of people you end up working with, IMHO.

What about interviews that require you to complete one of those GIA tests. You know those tests where you have to answer about 200 questions that have nothing to do with the job, and you have to read and answer them correctly in 3 seconds because they only care about speed and accuracy?
