I got my first tech job in 2021 with 0 experience, got hired after an internship. Changed 3 companies thoughout the 3 years. Looking for a new job now and way harder now than it was earlier. It's not just persistence, it's the market

MANNN as an ex hiring manager I can stress enough about the resume part. ALOT of the time it isn’t even you not being qualified for the job. It’s just your resume was bad 😂. We either don’t even look at it, don’t receive it to begin with(because of ATS), or turn you down because what you have on your resume doesn’t match what is needed for the job. EVEN if you actually do have the skills for said job. People need to go back to step one and look at their resume. Tailor it and simplify it. All the extra pretty stuff is 100% ignored

You CANT JUST LEARN AND GET JOB. You may get highered but will loose it quickly. Coding is not memorizing foreach loops or data types its understanding how to read it, interpret it, how to solve it. Takes experience.

It's rich to describe companies being hesitant to hire junior devs because they know they're going to shaft them on salary and they'll have to go to another company to earn more, and then act like they're (the companies) not just literally dumber than sand.
@shuffinginoblivion12 күн бұрын
Also whenever anyone says they're underpaid but they didn't care they should have to explain in great detail how they paid their bills.

Sterling is awful! If your former employers do not use The Work Number for employment verifications - they (Sterling) don’t know what to do. Also, with the drug screenings with them, the lab told me they (Sterling) were awful too. What I did was I scheduled the appointment at LabQuest through Sterling using their lab orders…. Then I immediately called my doctor and have him send me lab orders for the same drug screen. Took both orders with me to the appointment and had them send one report to Sterling and one to my doctor…… then when Sterling blamed the lab for delaying the results (which the lab doesn’t do), I emailed them the results from my doctors patients portal with the collection date and time (same as Sterling lab order) and they were speechless. Had call from the recruiter 20 minutes after I went rounds with Sterling. They don’t do nothing until you make them do something. They outsource their work overseas which is half the problem with them… but still these companies keep using them!

Comp sci grad 2021. No internships, no experience. After 3 years of job hunting no success. Was at the factory but quit that thinking i should get back into coding. I was not a good student, im a slow learner and bad problem solver. Thinking about just getting back to it and start making my own projects

So I'v researched JS a bit more to understand it and now ill go back to code camp and then I plan to start a bootcamp. Thanks for your insight👍

The biggest challenge with learning coding is finding real problems to solve or tricking your brain into thinking you are solving real problems with your exercises. Coding languages are just tools, and tools are relatively boring and useless unless directed at accomplishing something actually meaningful.
