A very balanced and honest approach. I share all the same frustrations with my Polestar. Love the car but it is becoming very hard to live with! Let us hope Polestar start to take these issues very seriously and impliment solutions or I fear they will never be treated as a serious alternative to some other well establish EV brands.

On the topic of charging, in research we tend to assess batteries in terms of something called "C-rate", where "C" is defined as a full charge (or discharge) in 1 hour. Then "2C" is a full charge in half an hour and so on. This reflects the intrinsic performance of the battery or pack, whereas the kW value is heavily influenced by the size of the pack. So if you compare an e-tron (with a 95kWh pack) with a Polestar 2 (78kWh), then 150kW on the e-tron is a C-rate of 1.58, whilst on a Polestar it is 1.92. Bjørn Nyland reports 134kW at low SoC for the Polestar, and Fastned claim 150kW max in their charge curve. Both are a higher C-rate than the Audi, but only at low SoC. The "magic" of the Audi is that it retains the 1.6C charge rate all the way to 80% SoC (actually 73% of the full capacity, cos Audi hide a lot from the user). No-other car does that. Even the Model 3 drops below 1.6C at around 60% SoC. It is a very interesting question as to why Audi have chosen to push the battery so hard at higher SoC, and whether the large hidden buffer of capacity is to mask degradation that comes from that choice. So I personally wouldn't compare with the Audi, but with other cars that display more "normal" tapered charge curves. And if you exclude the Tesla's and the Taycan from those, the Polestar is very competitive in terms of C-rate vs SoC. The only thing they need to sort out is the pre-heating routine when you navigate to the charger.

Thank you. Your videos are so much more useful than all the reviews from "influencers" who have only had the car a couple of days. I don't think you can blame Polestar for the fact the WLTP figures are unrealistic - it's a standard test which they do not control. EV database gives the realistic range as 245 miles (average) or 175 miles (motorways in winter) which seems to similar to what you are getting. As you say, the bigger problem is slow charging. Who wants to hang around in British winter weather (it's sleeting at the moment!) for hours to get enough charge to get home? Just one suggestion: you could cut back on "really". I counted 28 in this 14 minute video!

I just cancelled my test drive of a Polestar 2 because of this video. I’ve had an MG5 EV since January and done 5,000 trouble-free, reliable, comfortable miles. It cost me half of the cost of the P2 but I thought I would test drive one with a view to changing at the end of the year now I’m converted to EV’s! But, quite honestly, watching this video and reading the forums and the many supposed teething troubles, I just don’t want it. My MG5 hasn’t had any teething problems whatsoever…nothing. To me, this is more important than the higher spec of the P2.

#1: The software issues sound like the problems I had to deal with when I had an Android Wear smart watch. LG blamed Google, Google blamed LG, and it was all built on an underpowered processor by Snapdragon. Sold it after a year. Each update brought more bugs than fixes. #2: I hope battery pre-conditioning for DC charging will come with an update. Am also sure the range + charging issue would much smaller if the car had a heat pump. I know some people may not like Tesla, but with the 2021 upgrades, I would really struggle to justify going for a Polestar 2 instead. (Despite the design being nicer.)

The lack of a app is staggering in his day and age and after just 300 miles it’s already been back once and today I got the engine coolant malfunction warning. Roadside assistance told me that in fact I hadn’t broken down and she knew nothing about the problem. Advised to call customer service that had closed 4 hours earlier. 300 miles in and I know I haven’t brought the right car. Great video for current and potential PS2 owners. Just taken my Polestar to an Ionity 350kWH charger with a warm battery and 45% charge. Left if for an hour and the max charge throughout was 49kW. Unacceptable in my opinion and not a one off. Guy next to me had an E-Tron and he was almost getting full power. I've had the car in twice now with Volvo for SW updates/head unit reflashes and I am still left with 4g/WiFi issues/slow charging/loss of GPS/Preheating greyed out if not plugged in. I get we're all early adopters but this car is not cheap and it is obvious to me that it needed another 6 months of testing/QA before release. I, like you, have been mostly positive about the car since it was delivered and have put up with the niggles but that's all wearing thin now and I am considering giving the thing back. Design of the car is great, a real head turner. Infotainment system is good, if a little limited app-wise for now (and pretty useless without internet connectivity). Power delivery and handling for such a heavy car is immense. Pixel high beam lights are magical. Such a shame they couldn't release a finished product.

Lots of good points and well made Bradley. We went to Leicester earlier in the week and lost 4g as we came off the motorway, luckily I knew where we were going or we could have had big satnav problems. I'm with you totally on the app thing, yes it's great to have pre heating but what a ball ache to have to go out in cold, rain and snow to activate it in the car, that almost defeats the object of having it in the first place. Our range over urban, rural and motorway is about 160-175 miles per full 100% charge (extrapolated from the journey mileage divided by the percentage of battery used) Like you we love the car and for the relatively short journeys we do at the moment it is brilliant but hopefully come the summer when we can go camping the sub 200 mile range may become a "thing".

Dont want to defend Polestar and Volvo but lets be straight. Swedish virtue by the way, does not always go down well in the UK. Range and charging. EVs generally suck in winter. Range is considerably shorter and charging is slower. And thats just the way it is. You should think of this time of year as a worst case scenario. Fast charging is terrific but too much and too fast might degrade your precious battery. The 4G issue just has to be fixed ASAP. The app should have been available when the PS2 went to market. I am owning a Tesla Model 3 LR AWD for close to 2 years now. Best car I have ever owned and super happy with it. It has made me decide not to go ICE anymore (something I realized the first time I test drove the Tesla Model S about 7 years ago), and that after 30 years of being a loyal BMW 3-series customer both for my private as my company cars. For replacing my company leased BMW 3-series, I had 3 cars in mind to be my next company car (in alphabetical order): Ford Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, and Tesla Model 3. Both Ford and Polestar simply do not convince me on the efficiency and available charging infrastructure, as I travel often long stretches and also in Poland. Only the Tesla Model 3 LR enables to do the travel in Poland (slightly over 1000 km on a day) without range anxiety caused by an ICE'd charger at the hotel I stay. And when looking to this 1000 km ride, it takes 35 minutes less in the Tesla Model 3 LR than with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, and compared to the Polestar 2 I save 41 minutes on the same trip in the Tesla Model 3 LR. Not to talk about the kWh prices I will be charged at non Tesla Superchargers, which is the 2nd big main reason for me not going to competitors of Tesla (even though it is not me who pays the bill). A 3rd key element is the API that Tesla has enabled so that you can use services like TeslaFi or have your own little Raspberry Pi running with TeslaMate to create your own car data-pool on drives, charges and what more. The points you have rightfully complained about are for me amplifiers to not decide for a Polestar 2. I am sure Polestar will get them sorted out, but it does show that the product is rushed out and that is not uncommon in today's EV industry. Cold temperatures and lower range is something predominantly to EVs. ICE face this too but to a lesser extend. Reason being that you get you warm interior air for "free" as heat is the by-product of the huge inefficiency of combustion engines. In EVs - which are way more efficient - there is not much of heat as a by-product so that you need to start using electricity to create heat. With our Tesla will minimize this loss by pre-heating / pre-conditioning the car for a (longer) trip while it is still hanging on the charger; simply put interior conditioning on via the app or on a preset time so that interior and battery gets warmed up (and windows de-iced). I fully agree with you that this lower range @ cold temperatures are acceptable, but become annoying when fast-charging capability is not where it needs to be. This is a deficite (cold-gate) to most if not all EVs except Tesla; only the new Made In China Tesla Model 3 SR+ has at the moment this issue too but a software update to release higher fast charging capability is expected by the end of this month. I am really happy that more and more EV models get released and introduced as competition is something with which we all benefit. I am disappointed with the performance on efficiency and fast charging capability (last one especially in cold temperatures - when you need it to be at its best) of Polestar, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi and what more. I really hope all of these brands make improvements on these key performance indicators as it will also better support the transition to EVs.

Dunno if this has been heard before, but this is what I was told about the app when I test drove the car in Dec: the car and the app were intended to be launched together but the app company (in Germany apparently) went into the first lockdown and the development stopped. So Polestar launched the car anyway with the naff box-key which was originally supposed to just be a backup key that owners would never normally use. If this is all true (and it’s a big IF), continued lockdowns will just keep delaying the app’s release. I was keen on the Polestar but am reluctantly moving towards the Tesla with these continued push-backs on fixes and instability in the software.

As for range/charging i believe a thorough change in WLTP range indications is in order. In fact, I think it's bizarre! I'm so pleased I went with Tesla Model 3 LR. I got turned off Polestar early because I wasn't about to go out of my way to take a test drive and anyway, the whole setup with selling on the internet with no dedicated dealers didn't sit well with me. These issues make me wonder how much of the actual software development is under the Polestar roof. I suspect it's being done by Geely and maybe it won't be finished until the Volvo EV is nearly out. I just went to Connoisseur Coffee in Redwood City, Ca. to pick up some Ethiopian Moka Sida and my navigation rerouted me to avoid heavy traffic all on its own. Nice surprise! I would have never thought to take that route because it required local knowledge. I've owned for two weeks and it's been a hoot every day. Tried summon this morning and that didn't work very well IMO. I'm not rushing the learning stage and prefer pleaseant little surprises as I go.

The lack of an app puzzles me because, with all the commonality with Volvo, Volvo has in place the backend server infrastructure to support hundreds of thousands of connected cars, including my 2016 S60. With EVs it's important to know that the car hasn't been disconnected from the charger so I'd say the app is essential. With Google in the mix it's a wonder this couldn't have been available at launch, even if a barebones utility.

about the app. the app MAY BE READY, but if they are still suffering with 4G issues, in their best interest is not to release the app. why? because now you can work around the issue by using nav on the phone, or tether the signal IF the tethering is working, but if you release the app and the 4g is not working, then your customer will recognise the 4g issue as a much serious problem because that makes the entire app useless.

You have to accept when buying this car or any other new technology for that matter that there will be teething problems. I have had a minor issue with 4G connectivity but not of recent although because of lockdown I’m doing very little mileage. The main problem I am having is the charging cutting out so I very rarely achieve more than 10-20% additional charge before it stops. Your comment about a disconnect between Polestar and Volvo rings true with me as I’ve been trying to get the car looked at by the authorised dealer (which is 40 mins drive away rather than my local Volvo dealer which is 5 mins) but I’ve been waiting almost 2 weeks now. Unusual times due to virus I know but that is poor. Lastly my experience of the range is the same and the range indicator on the dash is a waste of time, the true measure is in google maps. I’m giving this the benefit of doubt at the moment due to short journeys and cold temperatures. Notwithstanding the above, I love my Polestar 2 and am really looking forward to getting out and about in it properly once the weather improves and UK restrictions are lifted.

The first complaint sounds like a issue with Google android.... and perhaps Polestar hasnt together with Google came up with why its not working. Could be a problem with the surftablet in the car? I hope they fix it. Annoying problem though.

I regularly watch your videos and have indeed subscribed, and in this you present a very honest and balanced view of the issues you're car is suffering. Hopefully I'm wrong and they will find a solution next week as you say, however I'm thinking this is something more fundamental in the system software. I may sound cynical, but it seems to me that vehicle issues such as Infotainment problems, are balanced by the time/cost to examine and rectfy the fault, compared with the number of existing complaints the Manufacturer is receiving most probably worldwide. If it then is becoming something which could impact sales and reputation, then it will get bumped up the priority list, and then it's a question of the Tech teams finding the solution, but it probably has to meet the time/cost/sales and reputational impact equation to start with. I have heard many stories concerning all makes of car at any price, and have personally experienced similar such issues with my own cars, and from what I can see, when it comes to systemic faults, they can take a while to get sorted. As I say I hope I'm wrong and they get it working, and either way I eagerly await your next video documenting the outcome.

I was very interested in buying a Polestar 2 over a Tesla Model 3, because of the feeling the car creates and the message the car and the company give to my sense of aesthetics. Range issues, missing heat pump and charging issues make me chose the Tesla Model 3. I think this is not really fixable via software. It´s just the price you pay for a opulent interior and a gorgeous design. Better charging, better efficiency and better evolution in the future. I´m so sad, because I love the Polestar´s design and the feeling which comes with it. I just think Polestar needs a few years of experience and research to come up to Tesla´s standards. So let´s see: maybe then they will bring out just the perfect electric car. I strongly believe in Polestar in the future!

Thanks Bradley for being frank about your experience. I accept some commenters have had a different experience but there are a number of others who share yours. It’s worrying when the fundamental characteristics of the car seem to still be ‘developing’ rather than being ready when the car is launched. Knowing what you know now, would you still make the decision to get a Polestar? Also have you had any assistance from your leasing funder? Do they have any responsibility for the decencies in the car?

Been interesting watching these. Test drove a Polestar in August and was all ready to make the purchase as I loved the black interior and that aggressive front end, and it felt well put together. But then the first people started getting them and had the first issues like the 12v issue, the 4G problem, high consumption, then the reveal there was no OTA updates and you had to go to the dealers to get updates installed was what killed it for me as it was always going to be the case the car would have issues but being able to ship constant OTA updates to the car to fix them is extremely important. The roadmap of feature releases also concerned me as in August the app was coming for Christmas then by September it was 'in 2021' the same for CarPlay which was important to me. I was also concerned by Google as they have a habit of releasing things and then not developing them and I started reading that Android Automotive doesn't support video playback (KZfaq/Netflix/etc.) and other 'standard' Android features so the lack of interesting apps wasn't due to lack of imagination from developers but from Google. In the end I went with a Tesla Model 3 LR, while Tesla even after 2 years of building this car still can't seem to screw a door on properly, they have gone through all these minor teething issues, they have a proven record of releasing updates and improving the car and if they want to allow adding Apple Music or Plex Media Player they can do it and aren't dependant on a 3rd party to develop it. I hope for Polestar that this is all just early day stuff and this time next year there's an app, a decent app selection and regular OTA updates, competition in the EV sector is good and having a choice of EV manufacturers is important.

I got mine a little less than a month ago here in the US. Fortunately I can NOT confirm the 4g and WiFi issues that are mentioned in this video. Perhaps I'm just lucky? I can see that 4g might behave differently in different countries and with different carriers. (I think it is AT&T here.) But WiFi has been working fine for me - the car connects perfectly to my home WiFi, at least as far as I can tell. I 100% agree with many of the other frustrations. Charging issues are annoying. The car does not work with certain EA stations here in the US. The promised January OTA update is supposed to fix that. We'll see. The lack of an app and the lack of the digital (phone-based) key, which is part of Polestar's advertising!, is embarrassing. There are some other issues where I haven't figured out yet if they are real problems with the car's software or something I'm doing wrong myself. For example, the rear view mirror often does not fold down on the first attempt of putting the car in reverse. That's usually on a cold start in my garage. Also, I still haven't fully figured out how seat position is related to profiles (and to corresponding keys). When my wife opens the car with her key, the entertainment system shows her account but the seats seem to stubbornly stay in my position...

The reliance on an internet signal for music and nav (unless you have thought in advance and downloaded a map) is the main factor putting me off the Polestar 2. I regularly in normal times visit Mid Wales and North Norfolk where a 4G signal is rarely available. 4G was never planned to be the telecoms solution for rural areas; that is 5G and it is disppointing when a manufacturer relies on something that is not universally available. I wonder whether there is location variation between those with no issues and those who have none and are happy.

There's this feeling of something not quite right with Polestar and/or the 2, IMHO. The fundamentals of the cars are very good: it's a looker, drives well, well put together, etc. Then there's the almost inexplicable "but". But, for a connected car, it's very strange to not have a proper app from day 0: I don't get how it wasn't a major point from way early in the project. But, it's very strange to have issues with slow charging due to cold batteries on a scandinavian brand! Doesn't matter where the car is built. The brand HQ is in Gothenburg, so you fully expect the top brass to know what the cold is and do. It's puzzling.

The exaggerated range estimates are bugging me. The BMW i3 does a very good job of adjusting its range estimates based on temperatures and the route selected when a destination is entered into Nav. It deducts range for cold temps, highway speeds, and elevation gain. It adds range for destinations involving slow speed city trips or descents out of the mountains.

Even although i thoroughly enjoyed your videos so far, I seriously dislike clickbait like this one. I feel you were and should be above that to be honest. I feel your frustration on some of the issues you are recently experiencing but lets hope the CEO of polestar is right in that he stated yesterday the issue should get better this coming monday so i hope your jumping the gun on that one. The app well first half of 2021 is allways communicated by polestar so that really shouldnt come as a suprise. Range wise yes its lacking, allthough i feel it is not the same for every polestar 2 out there which is weird. Now in your defence i actually think the biggest issue current going on is not any of the things you mention but it really is Polestar as a company to be honest and open about any issues that are currently going on, be it bugs or issues. The same goes for fixes they implement, let your users know which issues you fixed and the ones you did not and when you are planning to fix them. So yes some of what you are saying i agree with but in reality not all of them and what remains is my thorough dislike of clickbait in any shape or form so i sincerely hope you will abstain from it going forward.... Just an honest opinion nothing more.

Thanks, to be honest I don't really like click bait either. But actually what I'm trying to do is to help people realise there are a few things they need to consider before buying, not after. I have seen so many complaints about the range, it doesn't bother me at at all but I want to help people to be aware of this. The wifi and 4g issue though is something that really does frustrate me. And from my personal experience I have found Polestar to be fairly unhelpful with this and directly wasted 4 hours of my time this week and I wanted to share that through this video. Having said that though I don't plan on any future click bait style videos!

I ordered mine in June and have still not received it, for this reason alone I could not recommend a Polestar 2 and regret ordering one. Even though I have not received mine yet I feel I am sharing the frustration with issues mentioned in the video. It is patently obvious that this car was released too early, no App for gods sake!! an infotainment system which was hailed as a major advance in technology but simply doesn't work properly and reports on the Facebook group of vehicles dangerously engaging collision avoidance when not required resulting in cars swerving and applying emergency brakes when travelling at speed. What should have been an enjoyable buying process has become a regrettable experience.

A another good and honest video. I agree with your comments having had my P2 since October. You seemed to have had the same experiences as I have had. However, I have yet to get anywhere near 200miles range - 160 has been my maximum. That’s driving with no heating other than drivers seat on setting 1 and steering wheel also on 1. I am used to driving carefully having previous having a PHEV. Our local roads look very similar to those near to you. My car has been into the Volvo service centre three times, twice at Polestar request and the centre came and collected the car both times and returned the same day. Two days after the November update the 4G went off whilst out so on this occasion I dropped into the service centre and they sorted out the problem via a ‘service patch’. they told me that it was a google system problem. I have not had an issue since. My service centre is about 25 minutes away so not quite as far as yours. I have found that the CS do not read email strings and definitely do cut and paste replies. Have you got your First aid Kit and Jack yet? Still waiting for mine. The ‘missing’ app we were told at Banbury would be ready my early spring at the latest as they needed to test it in real world conditions first. I believe we also had an email from Polestar saying the same.

The 4G / WiFi is the main frustration, so hopefully the software update sorts this. My 4G has been relatively stable, but WiFi never worked. The app is a 1st world problem, while I agree the car SHOULD have it, its not the end of the world its not available yet, just. a little frustrating in the winter. The range can be improved a little with software, and while I think the car is a little hungry on the electrons, I think people need realise you run / manage charging different on an EV to an ICE car, and ICE cars are less efficient etc in the winter and how you drive it. 4G getting more and more of an issue and my connection problems with P2 tend to increase weekly (with more and more P2’s getting on the road ?). I get the impression that Polestar just hired a certain amount of 4G connections per region and that you will have to wait untill one becomes avaialble. At least that would explain the random 4G connection problems and less issues in the evening than during the day. It would be a bad cost saving by Polestar but possibly they have overlooked and underestimated. So possibly it is not software but a much more basic issue. Charging speed is indeed a deception as it is only max (but still much lower than the claimed speed of 150KW) when the battery is less than 10%, and it declines basically linear towards full battery-%. Practically 60..70 KW at a fast charger of 150 KW is more likely when charging starting from 30..40%. Audi etron indeed keeps high charging speed up to a high % of the battery. With the renewed battery cooling fluids in P2, Polestar should be able to improve the charging speed over battery-%, similar to Audi etron. If not, then indeed the P2 is not a car for driving longer distances as noted by already multiple persons and in reviews, as you will be spending long times at “fast” charging stations due to higher consumption and slower charging speed than claimed by Polestar. In that case I have chosen the wrong car and Polestar has been giving customer-misleading information.

Biggest issue for me is the poor range. I accept that ice cars MPG is not possible to achieve outside of a lab. However I would typically get within 10-20% of the manufacturers figure. This I can accept. Polestar quote 292 WLTP. I get around 45-50% less than that, which is unacceptable even if driving a little enthusiastically and it’s cold outside. I could even just about live with 200 miles but 150-170 is just pathetic! The Tesla Model 3 SR+ can get 200 miles no problem. Not good enough Polestar😡

I’ve previously commented on how you seem to not get too frustrated but now I see you are human. It is poor for a car costing £50k that things are not being sorted out more quickly. The app delay is woeful and the range issues are a big concern if it is nowhere near 200 in the cold weather. The build quality counts for little if you’re forever wondering if 4G works. I’ve just placed an order for the Tesla for all of these reasons.

So I have not had an issue bar once with the 4G, I can't get my car to see my home Wifi but I am not sure that matters as the car has 4G. The charging speed combined with the significantly lower then advertised range really changes things for how long journeys are handled (if at all, we may well stick with our ICE for now for those). I am less concerned about the app, I think it was a huge miss sell but I can live without it. I think the next few months will be defining for Polestar in how they deal with the issues whilst keeping their roadmap on target. I think the truth is we all have taken a leap of faith with such a brand new car, same with any tech, it is how those teething issues are dealt with which will be defining for Polestar. Saying all of that, I think it is good to shave done this video as it gives a truly balanced view.

I have the Polestar 2 since December 28th and only had 1 occasion where the 4G and GPS dropped for a few minutes and magically came back. After that I had no more 4G issues. They added more network capacity from what I heard, well T Mobile did. I only just today had the folding mirror while backing up thing. They didn't tilt down. The app isn't there because the switch to Android Automotive. The Sensus tablet is running another operating system/chip hardware and that is why they say newer 2021 models can't be updated to Android Automotive and that's also why the 'Volvo On Call' app can't be ported. I'm pretty sure the phone app was ready but they discovered an (security) issue and withhold it at the last moment. Just like the phone as key that was promised to be there at launch. That's why you get a cheaper looking key than the one you get with a Volvo. Range wise I believe that Volvo/Polestar is being pretty conservative, so they are working with a large buffer when the car says 0km left. I wouldn't be surprised if they have enough data gathered they will release some extra capacity. Same applies to the charging curve. I just wonder how sure Audi is with their charging curve because 64kW at 92% is pretty wild. We will know in a few years :) The only criticism is that some of the frustrations could have been solved earlier, like the battery temperature not showing on the display or the charging speed in kW and preconditioning the battery when cold. Those are items I mentioned at the beginning of 2020 when I first saw the car at the Brussels car show. I'm pretty I wasn't the only one. Many of these come from the fact that they don't have a software background and they are *new* at this. From what I feel they are listening and trying, so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt for now.

After 8 attempts on fast chargers (175kw) i got on avereage max 73kw/h with a warm battery and starting at 15%. In other words to get 100km i have to wait about more than 20min instead of their reclaimed 10min. Besides this Polestar's customer service is a laugh... also the Volvo dealers showed their dissatisfaction.. this car is OK for short mileages but certainly not for longer drives / holidays.. the fact that there is no APP available either makes you really think how serious this brand wants to be... for now i more than regret this purchase......

Have you yet done any really long journeys? I.e where you get to a charger after having used up 80%+ of the battery so it is fully warmed up? I expect this should make it better for the charging point

A great video again. Some people (like me) consider Polestar as the new SaaB. The thinking man wearing black rimmed glasses choice of EV. Saab had flashes of genius but were also quirky. It is a fact of life. I didn't buy a Model 3 because it looks weird, isn't as practical and is as common as muck. I just wish we could have a Polestar with Tesla tech underneath. The range issue doesn't bother me that much but I wish charging performance was better. App wise you are right. Even my Nissan Leaf had an app back in 2017 (although it was a bit rubbish). Just shouldn't be missing on a £50K car. BUT - it is the best looking EV imo and I can't wait to get mine.

I'm with you 100% the things you mentioned are the same reasons I went for the Polestar 2. I prefer the look and wanted a more practical larger boot opening than the model 3. Despite the issues this is what is delivers and I'm still really enjoying the car. In fact, 4g seems to be working fine today!

Surely there'll be no point to the app if 4G and/or WiFi is not working. Why not approach Polestar and offer to be a beta tester for the proposed app - point them to your videos first)?

I do not own a Polestar nor a Tesla, i actully have an Ioniq. it fits my needs for my daily comutes, but Between Polestar 2 and Tesla M3 LR i would pick M3 LR anyday. Cheaper charger, better charging, better technology, but however i do agree that driving a Polestar is more smooth than M3....

I agree that these problems exist and would go some way further. I believe they have been irresponsible to launch a cars that was not ready. Also have you tried to use the vanity mirror!!? It’s fine if you want to check up on your rear seat passengers! Also what about your charging cable? Will it charge at 7.4 kw or even the claimed 11kw ac charging - mine is 16a and only good for 4.3 kw! This is super poor attention to detail and suggests a slap dash attitude which is not acceptable in any 50k car. When you add to that the tech does not work.... don’t buy it a Tesla is more spacious and the tech works... I am kicking myself!

I have a simular car. I expexted issues. Bottomline, for a first generation Polstar2, its not something that deserves this kind of headline. What should people buying a Jaguar ore a Audi ore a Kona owner ore a Mercedes buyer say. Bigger issues there and more serious. Our 4G is fixed. Hello. Everything is functional with chered Wi-Fi or even like a traditional car. I following you and like your videos but this were a bit beside goal. Thats my experience. Sorry for my spelling. I'm Norwegian and love the 4weel drive. It's byond Quattro 👍

Honestly I love the car too. I was kind of joking to be honest but also want people to think about these potential issues before they buy. And for me the 4g and WiFi is a problem and I've had no assurance from Polestar that this will be fixed anytime soon.

@@ShortCircuitPS2 I agree. I realy liked your video. Basicly i reakted on the punchline. Many people just scrolling. What they are telling us here is that it's been a third part problem. Eaven if everybody are happy whith the service they have recived from their lokal workshop there is a some thing to complain about. That is Polestar and their lack of comunicstion out to us "customers" would it be a big case inform us about whats going on? Smal messages can cole down a lot of frustrations. Most people expekt issues. Most people reakt on lack of informatikk, if this brings any scense to you. Thank you for making rewews. I going to continiu watching. 👍

@@janehagen9125 yes agreed fully polestar needs to much more open in their communication and als in the rolling out of fixes! Their self proclaimed mantra of openness is what they should start practicing much more.

They probably don't, but they are being forced into it by the new (brutal) EU emissions regulations and the dawning realisation that Tesla is not going to fail and could well dominate the market in a few years. So they are playing a defensive game with respect to EU fines, whilst trying to play catch-up with Tesla in a field they have little previous experience with (EVs and software). Not an easy trick to pull off. I think treating early customers as pseudo beta-testers is not something they've really done before, but they have to do it and unlike Tesla they don't seem to have the knack of offering additional cool stuff that compensates for the shortcomings. As a thought experiment, consider how this car would look if Tesla didn't exist.

@@mrbambix "incomplete" - as the reviewer said lots of what you have paid for now doesn't work and because both 4G AND WiFi don't work you don't even have a PlanB. Maybe bearable in a 20K car but not in a £50K one..... a comment from below from an owner "I've already advised a couple of people not to buy one. It's a shame because it could be such a great car" you get many of those, people, like me, think - lets wait and NOT buy....

@@SNORKYMEDIA yes lots in life is incomplete but what exactly? I mean really your not talking about just the app are you? That has been on the roadmap for quite some time on the polestar webpage to be released first half of 2021. Would it have been nice to have it already yes definitely, but it cant come as a suprise it isnt there just yet. Could Polestar be more open and communicate more on their fixes and releasedates? Absolutely.
