Dude! Last night I was looking at images I shot with a used Fuji X-T1 that I recently got for next to nothing, and thought why did I keep upgrading!!! It's so true. No one looks at our images and says, 'Oh, that was shot with a 10 year old [fill in the blank].' It's the brain, not the gear, that produces quality content. Liked and subscribed. Thanks.

*I was looking for a second camera for my FX30 and I wanted to keep the price somewhat cheap as I had the ZV line up from Sony I missed my ZV-1 but didn't want to buy another one so I decided to get the ZV-E10 but being that even New they were still over $700 I decided to Go used and MAN I got a Deal $520 on Ebay and it's practically Brand new as it doesn't look like the guy used it that much and since I already had APS-C lens I didn't need to get more lens so yes sometimes buying used can be a good thing just have to be careful where or whom you're buying them from. But yeah I've learned that Black Friday was a JOKE many years ago and that sometimes a sale isn't a sale it's just something make you feel as if you were getting a deal*

I agree 95%. I say that because I bought a two light kit. I have been using one, non dimmable light for three years. Need new lights? No, but with three I can try new things with lighting, and that will be fun. - Frank

These points are always important to circle back on, great video. One huge gripe I have is that, technically, these new cameras are awesome. But, truthfully, they often do not unlock new creative possibilities / capabilities version to version (difference between power and creative possibilities). And, for most of us, the time and convenience gains of new equipment (ex: bodies) are hard to seriously justify. Edit: Game changers will be when the amount of in-camera capability (software feature sets that put processing power to use) start to rival off-camera tools, imo.

This is a topic I'm working on. Beyond even the landfills, the slave labor tied to resource mining for electronics is criminal. I'm looking for the breakdown of camera sensors to see if it's as bad as phones and want to get my facts straight first.

Agree with some of your points but not all - some support equipment is necessary. High powered LED lights change how you work and what you can achieve. BTW, there are some killer used deals this Black Friday week.

This is really more specific to cameras and lenses since those are the purchases most are looking to make, but even lighting sales aren't anything special. The 300d dropped to $750 but this is what it's always on sale at since Godox came out with their VL300. The only thing worth considering with any meaningful price savings is m2.nvme drives. Even decent NAS systems or drives aren't on sale.

@@riley56566 the best sales are always in March. You can check camelcamelcamel for price history to show as much. If the lens was in short supply, it's unlikely it'll be on sale but that's the only exception

It's hard to trust someone giving camera gear advice when you're video is out of focus the entire time. 😂 But I agree with some of it, but there's things in my Amazon cart that went way down in price so I would just say wait for good deals all of the time not just on black Friday.

Lmaoooooo, I was wondering if it was just painfully obvious to me or if everyone else heard how weird it was. First time using it in premiere beta. SOOO GOOD at removing reverb but good lord that vocal wiggle causes me pain 😂
