Choosing the best camera app among Filmic Pro, Blackmagic Camera, and Final Cut Camera _??
@omarknowsphotos
@omarknowsphotos 7 күн бұрын
Ease of use: Final Cut Camera. Best app with pro camera exposure tools, lut previews and whatnot? Blackmagic Camera and I cannot imagine what any other app would have to accomplish to beat it. I'm going to do a video shooting a simple ad with it soon.
@seancusson72
@seancusson72 7 күн бұрын
Great review! So I use the Blackmagic app for my channel stuff and it's great. The one downside is that I can't control the app through a second device which is a pain so this is an interesting solution for that (as long as you have an iPad). The only downside is that FCP for the iPad is a subscription app so you have to decide if it's worth paying the subscription fee to get that secondary device control. Man I just wish Blackmagic would find a way to link across 2 devices but I'm guessing Apple may be limiting that feature to other developers. What's annoying with the FCP Camera app is that you can only use log in Prores. I love that I can use it with h.265 on the BM camera app.
@omarknowsphotos
@omarknowsphotos 4 күн бұрын
Final Cut Camera doesn't circumvent this? I wish I had an ipad to test the feature out but I'm pretty much just using a cheap Bluetooth shutter and a remote monitor that mirrors the screen for overheads.
@seancusson72
@seancusson72 4 күн бұрын
@@omarknowsphotossadly it doesn’t. Here’s an interesting flaw with the iPhone. If you run a signal out to HDMI (I’m using a smallHD) then you can’t use a Bluetooth trigger. Apparently the HDMI option overrides the Bluetooth shutter. So that’s pretty annoying when using an external monitor with the Blackmagic camera app. That’s why I got excited about being able to control the FCP camera (phone) with the iPad. It would be an almost perfect setup if you could record h.265 in log.
@omarknowsphotos
@omarknowsphotos 4 күн бұрын
@@seancusson72 interesting. How are you connecting the iphone to a monitor? I tried with a signal converter from apple that just didn't work a few months back and I didn't see that they changed anything. I'm getting some sandmarc lenses in a few days and want to use the probe lens. A monitor other than this small one I can cast to would be amazing.

Nice Portrait photos taken on that Camera! I used to own the X-T200 but I swapped it to a X-E2 which fits my use case better as I'm more of a Photo person than a Video person, I appreciated how much better the X-E2 is built compared to the Entry level Fujis, tbh it might look like a downgrade from on paper but I do not really feel there is a difference on the Image quality. Another thing is that the X-E2 pairs well with my TTArtisans 27mm AF pancake lens and my 35mm F2 lens, XTrans II sensor is awesome too and is a bit more compact than the XT200.
