I have now made the butter countless times and changed things every now and then. The old recipe is a 10/10 in terms of taste. The only thing that bothered me a little bit was the stringiness. I wanted a vegan butter with the same taste, just a little more spreadable.
I finally succeeded! I am happy to introduce you to my improved recipe.
📋✍🏼 Recipe for 3 jars of 230g each:
200g coconut oil / coconut fat (deodorized/refined), coconut oil is solid when cold!
120 ml oil (flavorless)
60 ml plant milk (Vly pea protein or oat milk)
turmeric
Salt
Since I've made vegan butter so many times now, I've noticed one thing in particular.
There are really differences in the taste of coconut oil/coconut fat. If you can, you shouldn't use the cheapest coconut oil.
📍Try to use a higher quality product📍The cheap coconut oils are almost colorless when solid. The higher quality coconut oils are more white when solid. It's less about the visual color and more about the taste. The cheap coconut oils can change the taste.
I personally prefer the brand that starts with Pal and ends with *min*.
⛔️But it's even more important that you use deodorized, i.e. tasteless, coconut oil⛔️
Unless you want your butter to taste like coconut.
The same applies to the oil. Rapeseed oil or sunflower oil is best. I personally cannot recommend olive oil. This changes the typical butter taste.
The amount of salt is also very important. It's best to season it after pureeing.
This is the only way you can be sure that you end up with an almost perfect butter alternative that not only looks like butter, but above all tastes just as good... if not a little better ❗️
