Great video! Can I ask a question? Say you wanted to take that free gear off, how do you do it? I am trying to remove a single speed free job, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to remove the piece (with the splines)

why would you use that instead of the spine style, i really dont see any advantage In using this style...

Why would you use a spline style over this. A 1 piece cassette is so much simpler

Because SRAM and other similar cassettes are machined out of 1 piece of steel and last much longer

@@duediligence8888 last much longer? how? does the cassette being one piece make the gears wear slower somehow, also pretty sure you can get one piece spline style cassettetes too, what i see when i look at a threaded cassette is very little contact area aka a weakpoint.

@@-joo3033 One point of it is so they can have a 9 or 10 tooth cog. The one piece design is lighter. The cogs are stiffer as well which improves shifting. Another advantage is that you don't have bite into the splines on the freewheel body.

Why? SRAM works great. I am not a Shimano hater. I've ridden it nearly exclusively for about 30 years. I have SRAM on two bikes and it works great.
