Just for future reference, unbox heavy stuff outside and take it in the house piece by piece.😉 The more people, the less trips.

Exactly the game plan I have in mind once my treadmill arrives. I don't understand why people feel compelled to do the heavy lifting at once when there is actually a less stressful way to handle it.

We did this but the vast majority of weight is the base and is one piece. You still have 200+ pounds that needs to be moved inside in one piece. It was NOT easy!

Once I realized how heavy just the deck was I immediately regretted opening the box to remove anything while it was still outside. The deck alone is probably close to 250 lbs. I wasn't going to be able to get that to my basement without sliding it down the stairs on its side. And to do that I wanted it in the box. So I had to tape the box closed again. 🤦‍♂️

I love this treadmill. There were a few things that were super important. I wanted a large screen (i have bad eyes). I love all the cup holders for TV remote, phone, water, towel, etc. i also needed a hand rail in front to quickly grab.

Thanks so much for the video, very informative and helpful. And thanks very much to the commentor who offered the order of assembly tips for dealing with the difficult tubes and screws. I ordered the F63 and it's supposedly arriving in 10 days. They are not offering any service other than dropping it off in your driveway because of covid, so I'm hiring some neighbor guys to help. Thanks again and God bless!

Agree with everything he said. During Covid - they no longer offer anything other than curbside and this was a bear to get in the house. Not only is it 300 lbs, but the box is both wide and deep as well as long. To the person in the comments who recommended taking the parts out of the box -- normally a good idea, but in this case I figure 80% or more of the weight is in the treadmill platform and motor. He's dead on about those connector covers as well. I found this video looking for tips on making that connection after 30 minutes of failed attempts. Feels like the holes aren't lining up. At least I know I'm not alone on that one.

I saw that video too. I had a headlamp and a light on my drill and I could not see anything. It was as if this treadmill is coated with that special black paint that absorbs 99% of the light that hits it.

First, I took your advice about hiring a person to assemble it and I'm glad I did. He was by himself, but knew how to handle the pieces to get it down the stairs. He took it out of the box in the garage due to short head space on the basement door. He then slid the base unit, which is the heavy part, down the stairs. Second, I mentioned the difficulty of putting the screws in the base of the console. He said the trick is not to tighten the bolts holding the uprights until you get those screws in the console in. Not tightening leave slack in the uprights and give "play" so those screws go in easily. Or maybe Sole changed the design a bit. He put it together in 45 minutes even with me asking questions as he assemble it.

I really appreciate your honest and unbiased (unsponsored) review of the Sole F80. Some questions I have for you: 1. Have you had any issues with the treadmill thus far? 2. Have you needed to contact customer service in order to alleviate the issue? 3. How was it working with them? Did they try to give you the run around at all? Again, thanks for the review and would love to see an update! Its been a year and I'm curious about your journey!

I'm with you on those screws! Sole's engineers must have had Cheshire Cat grins when they designed those placements. I saw a trick on another site and used it. Wrap a piece of masking or duct tape lightly around the screw driver and screw so the you don't have to try to hold the screw in place when you insert the screw into the tunnel...

I originally purchased another F80 in 2019 after my first one died after 10 years & 4500 miles. However, the second one had SO many issues after just about two years (replaced motor, controller board & belt) & still had issues. Finally, I complained so much that Sole Fitness send me out a brand new unit so we will see how things go.

I got my Sole F63 2 days ago and yes incredibly solid treadmill. My husband put ours together and ran into the same problem with the casing and the tubes for the screw, took him forever to get those together, thankfully he got all 4 screws in. I would have given up but he was determined to get them in. This was the longest part of putting it together. So far so good otherwise. I'm very happy, no more going to the gym in this pandemic which I haven't done. Missed my gym time, now I can be safe.

Thanks for this review and talking about how you dealt with moving it. I bought one of these last night and got it curbside pickup at Dick's Sporting Goods. I unloaded it from my truck and realized what a bear it was going to be to move, then immediately took to KZfaq to see how people dealt with this thing. I was able to move this alone, but I certainly don't recommend it. I took everything out of the box except for the deck, put the box lid back on and kept all of the styrofoam in there to protect the deck, and then used a handtruck to move the box to my basement. I would guess after moving the smaller parts, it's still more than 250 lbs for just the deck portion. Luckily, I have a yard that has only a slight decline from the main level to the walk-out. If you plan on putting this anywhere you have to deal with a lot of stairs, and especially if you intend to put this anywhere that qualifies as "upstairs," you'll want to do like this review advises and pay to have someone move it.
@richlorenzo
@richlorenzo 2 жыл бұрын
I opened the box while it was still in the van, removed all of the pieces other than the deck, and realized it was still waaaay too heavy for me to handle by myself. The part I was most concerned about was getting it out of the back of the van and stood up vertically onto a handtruck. I had to get it down a full flight of basement stairs and decided I would slide it down on its side while still in the box. So I ended up having to tape the box closed again so that it wouldn't open up or get caught on the stairs while sliding down. For me I would have been better off just leaving the box closed with everything inside.

After thinking about trying to slide 250 pounds of boxed treadmill down the carpeted stairs, I took your advice and hired the team who moves this around and puts it together. The price is now $239, but compared to damage to the walls and frustration, it's a good deal at least for me.

This appears to be an excellent treadmill. This was one of the contenders when I was searching for treadills, but the estimated time of deliovery was 50 days, which was a bit too long for me. I chose the NordiTrack Commercial 1750 instead, which should be delivered to me by next week. I paid extra for threshold delievery, so they will be bringing it to my door. What is puzzleling me is the declared weight capacity and warranty of the NordicTrack. It has a slightly more powerful motor than the F80 (3.75 CHP vs 3.50 CHP), weighs even more than the F80 (310 pounds vs 278 for the F80) but the weight capacity of the NordicTrack is 300 pounds vs 375 for the SOLE F80. I am nowhere near 300 pounds, but I hope that NordicTrack is underestimating the weight capacity. Also, the SOLE F80 has a much better warranty.

We thought we could just unbox in garage and bring it in piece by piece, but the bottom of the treadmill was still too heavy for my husband and son. I had to hire movers costing $175. So, you may as well spend the extra money for them to install and assemble. We bought ours at a sporting goods store.

This review of the setup is 100 % how I viewed it. The big things took no time to setup, but little annoying things like those plastic casings and impossible-to-align screw holes took all the time. Also, just pay the money to get it setup.

When you first put your treadmill in the corner and it was inclined, how did you get it flat before assembling it?? I got the Sole 63 and it’s inclined and I can’t get it flat to even start putting it together. Edit: it wasn’t folded up, it was inclined like you would incline it to run on an incline. When I unboxed it there was a black Velcro strap around the whole treadmill. Once I took that off , the incline sprung up and I almost got seriously injured and could not get the incline to be flat so I could put it together. ANYONE who can help me please!

I just wanted to join in on saying the plastic covers are insanely frustrating to install and really hurt the perceived value of this otherwise remarkably well constructed machine. I laughed out loud at 10:24 because I was saying the EXACT same things! Utterly impossible to balance the screw while working against gravity, line it up with the hole through that giant tunnel without being able to see anything because the hole is so deeply recessed it is the terrestrial equivalent of a black hole, keep the plastic pieces perfectly aligned so that the two tiny holes line up, and then somehow screw it in without losing the screw. I got the front two screws in, those were tricky but not completely impossible, but the back 2 forget it. I hardly ever give up and I'm very particular about doing things right but in this case I really thought it was going to be impossible. I opted for two nearly imperceptible pieces of black T-Rex duct tape to substitute for the screws in the back of the top cover. And after seeing this video and reading the comments I don't feel the slightest bit guilty or embarrassed by this. Happy running everyone!

Auden Still love it. We’ve had no issues. It’s easy to use, quiet, and seems to be holding up great. I would even say it borders on gym quality. Some things we don’t use often like the heart rate monitor so not positive on that, but overall, it’s great!

Do you have to tilt it to move it? Does it fit through a doorway once assembled and folded up?
@andrewh.howard3605
@andrewh.howard3605 5 жыл бұрын
It can be moved while folded down. I think it would be tough to get through a doorway. You’d most likely have to take the console off and tilt sideways. Depends how big your doorway is.

Andrew Howard Do you mean it can be moved with the belt unfolded or with it folded up?
@andrewh.howard3605
@andrewh.howard3605 5 жыл бұрын
You asked if it needs to be tilted up to be moved. No, it does not. It can be moved either way. Belt up or belt down. Although much easier with belt up.

I bought an F85 today directly from Sole. I was told 30 days but some get it sooner. Based on my research, I'm expecting 40 days. I really believe the salesman didn't want to lose the sale so he was trying to be optimistic on the delivery time. I'm regretting paying the $59 garage delivery. Shoulder just did curbside.

Put a small piece of clay or putty on the screw head and stick it on the screwdriver when trying to hit those infernal 4 screws... it will hold them on the screwdriver long enough to seat them. You are right it is a terrible design but overall the treadmill is excellent

Rondale Holloway what is not even that big? Remember: you fit your diet to your lifestyle. You don’t have to workout to be healthy but you have to eat Whole Foods to be healthy. Please do research not based on big pharma before you debate. Please google William Davis and read wheat belly at least. And thank You.

@@matbob7249 I disagree and we will just have to agree to disagree. Offer advice, not disrespectful comments...advice mixed with respect goes a long way. The fact that this man purchased a machine to get and do better is a step, no negative comments about his "double chin" was needed.

Rondale Holloway disrespectful? Stop being snowflake. Take bad with good, when you guys become so sensitive? And hard work- research before disagreeing. You might just get smarter. I referred some doctors names. Go and read.
