Put zipper guard 'tape' under the zippers please. It's probably a heat-bonded material- it stiffens the fabric under the zipper so the zipper doesn't catch. Think iron on clear tenacious tape. It is sooo worth the weight to not have the fabric catch in the zipper, especially if you have to get out of the bag fast for some reason. It would save YOU and your customers the headaches, and since it's a fraction of an ounce, it's not going to affect the final number. I know for sure that the 2023 women's nemo disco 15 has it. They probably all do, but that's the one I know for sure does.

I had a down bag that I slepted over 500 nights in over the course of 10 years. I always treated it as good as possible (I also used a liner 99% of the time, that I washed regularly). After 10+ years the bag was still as good as new. So I don't think it is necessary to wash a down bag very often when you treat it right and use a liner.

I am in the same boat.. super scared to wash it. I sleep in a liner in my bag in hopes to help keep my body oils off of my bag. However, I have had my bag a few years...only camping 2 to 3 times a year (I'm a mom with small kids and 1 sitter...can't "abuse" her services...lol) so my bag shouldn't be too dirty, but I think it's due for some love. I will wash it when ur "how to wash ur down bag" video comes out. I know there are many videos out there, but I trust u all completely, so I will wait for ur video. Ty for doing these videos!

I just use a damp sponge for washing my down bag. Fleece liner a must.

Have y’all thought of making a quilt that a air pad fits in a sleeve that makes it light yet is warm and has no drafts!

@Outdoor Vitals QUESTION: When washing my down bag, in a front loader, is it good to use a high speed setting afterward to spin off more water before drying? I will have top loaders that spin very fast and squeeze hard against the sides, even though I'd never wash in one. My thoughts is that it would take and hour off the beating it would get in the tumble dryer.

What do you do when your down starts escaping your sleeping bag. I have mornings where my tent looks like a snow globe. What do I do to fix it

Great video, great tips. I look after my down bag and store it in a huge bag that came with it when I'm not using it but I get a lot of feathers leaking out of it, is there some way to stop this or is it normal for down bags to shed feathers?

Do you have any references for the idea that down takes as long to decompress as it was stored compressed for? I've never heard that before and can't find another mention of it. I'm assuming the rate of decompression wouldn't be linear so is there a threshold level of decompression that would be the 'functional' loft of the bag after compression for say, 10 hours?

Hey like the video, i have a down 800 + and want to know what is the longest you would have it in a compression sack , if i pack it the day before than spend 2 day traveling on plane then spend a day in the hotel than start the hike it can be 4 /5 days is that to long or what do you do when your in this spot ? thanks

Pet tip is one I’ve made a huge mistake with. My dog, Aussie Shepherd is my backpacking companion. She’s destroyed my first bag, and I quickly learned her nails aren’t great for the outer material. She loved it too, and now it’s hers with duct tape patches. Lol.
