I got my first two reborns almost nine years ago from eBay and they weren't what I expected for what I wanted, so I blew a lot of money just to end up giving them to my mom and a little neighbor. The one reborn I have now was used but in great condition so I lucked out there! I have bought 4 reborns on eBay. I limit my searches to newly listed, used, buy it now, and us only. This eliminates a lot of crap. Then I look at their feedback and how many items that they have sold. I like to see a lot of photos. I have found that the sellers I bought from were all very cooperative and communicated well. Ask a lot of questions. Who reborned it and what kit it is. Know what your buying.

My first one was such a scam!!!! I'm glad that other people can watch this and get the RIGHT reborn! 💕💖

Also, look at the amount of dolls sold or dolls left to buy. If it has this it is not a one of a kind. It is mass produced. I've seen one that had already sold 525 with 3 dolls left. Mass produced.

LOL I said the same thing about that baby w the BIG smile! The one you liked w the paci in. hahaha I saw it and said ohh how cute!! Then I saw all the pics w NO paci and I said "Ohh nevermind!" lol No offense but that baby is only 20" and the face is more like a toddler in my opinion. But great painting work. My 3rd daughter was 9lbs 6oz and 22.5" at BIRTH lol and she did NOT smile that big for MONTHS!! lol :-D

I wish that a reputable doll manufacturer would hire artists and guarantee satisfaction. This business is prone to the black market. It takes too much experience to make a safe purchase.

There was another person that suggested also when you go to search on eBay put in OOAK, I get far less of China popping up. I just bought my 22in Arielle from the Jesse Kit. The seller had excellent feedback and at a price, I could afford right now. I fell in love at first site with this little girl.

I'm from Australia and lots of the dolls I like are from the US or UK so a person needs to keep in mind what the reborn fee is going to actually be and not get caught in looking at the doll only ... lile I do. I've often wondered what a nice middle of the road price will get someone so your tips have been VERY appreciated because the last thing any of us want is to receive something that's a ripoff or not as shown on the site's pictures. As you say: research. Don't be in a hurry ... better safe than sorry especially if funds for whatever reason are limited. CYA 👍✌

I’ve seen so many stolen kits on eBay, especially Saskia by Bonnie Brown. They’re horrible, ruined versions of the beautiful original sculpt. It’s heartbreaking to see people steal others art that they put so much time, money and love into.

I'm so BEYOND sad, I could actually CRY!!!!!. I know that probably sounds stupid, to everyone. It probably makes me sound like a lunatic. I was playing online PCH free entry games, to try and win. This ad kept coming up, for reborn dolls. And ever time I saw it,(WHICH WAS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY) I'd get REALLY excited. I've been out of work for over a year due to a knee surgery that turned into three knee surgeries. I could go back to work but due to doctor's orders, it sit down work only! And I work in a school and the principal will not allow me back. The price advertised, for the reborn doll was $19.99 it probably sounds cheap to most people but to me it's a lot. Unlike most people, I don't get my hair, or nails, done. I don't eat out. And I only go grocery shopping maybe once every 6 weeks, and stretch a dollar as far, as it goes. If I can't get a minimum of three or more meals out of something that would cost me $2 to make. Then, I don't get it But I finally decided to do it by the reborn doll, because I really needed this baby. I love babies and I'm all by myself (I rent a room in somebody's home) So I'm in one small room and it's used as my bedroom, living room, and kitchen and it's probably a 10x10 room. So you can imagine the lack of space that I have. I think that it would help with my anxiety, holding this realistic baby. And I was waiting for the ad to turn up again and it didn't. So I started googling reborn dolls, on my phone. OH, MY, GOSH!!!! was I shocked at the price! So when I would try to find one that was like the one I saw, on the ad. They didn't look real and the size, and weight was not like a real baby. I'm not a computer person. I'm technology challenged. I don't even own a computer, or tablet, or laptop, or any of those type of things. All I have is my phone. I came across these videos that show people opening their boxes, of their reborn doll. And how excited they were. But I still couldn't find the ad that I had seen. Ive looked, everywhere. Sadly, The only ones I see are REALLY, REALLY, EXPENSIVE and doesn't look as realistic as the ones I've seen on that ad. I really wanted one that weighed, more realistic. And vinyl, not cloth. It looks so realistic watching them give the baby a bath on the ad. And in the app the baby coo's and smiles. And has a heartbeat, and smells like a baby. And just seems more interactive. I had got my hopes up, and I'm SOOOOOO disappointed. AND NOW, I feel EXTREMELY STUPID! Because, coming across videos of artists who actually make the babies. I'm not sure how much they actually charge? But, I understand the time and detail they put into each baby. So thinking that I could get her, and a few sets of clothes, a beautiful blanket, pacifier, diapers, a bottle, and other accessories. Each individually wrapped. Making the opening of your new baby extremely special, and exciting 💖for $20 was EXTREMELY STUPID, AND NAIVE, on my part! Although, I'm VERY appreciative, that you, were SO nice, AND took time out of your day, to make this video! So that people, don't get scammed too! That was very nice of you.🤗 I wish there were more honest people like you, in this world! 💜

Great video. Some people can really get caught up in those fake china ones, well all the fake ones you spoke of, and think they are buying legit reborns. Since I to am an artist, I rarely look for babies, especially on ebay, but if I did, I would start at the highest price to lol and be looking for great photos, esp close up shots of those things you mentioned and as you said, looking on different platforms, ie: phone, pc, tablets etc. I to look at their feedback. Really informative reborn buying video for ebay. It will surely help a lot of people, esp those newbies looking for their first baby. Again great video Steph :)

I bought one. It was 46 dollars and made in China. It's not made by an artist but I use it for my doll therapy. I love her. If you just need one for doll therapy buy a Pinky Reborn. But if you want a real one buy it off facebook or etsy.

I've asked my mother for a reborn on my birthday and she says she doesn't mind spending her money, I might give update on my dad's thought, and maybe in unboxing, but yeah, for unboxing, only in a few months, AKA in my birthday, but.. she asked me to choose the right one and avoid scams. I can't find anything for euros in Amazon etc and only on eBay is where I can get them for euros and more likely ship them to my country, but she want it to be safe, everything inside the box shall be safe and nothing shall be a scam. the baby i got off ebay said that it has an open mouth, and it looked like the mouth was pretty big but when i got it it was actually really small so u can’t even put a paci in it, it said the baby’s clothes fit in 0-3 months but they’re too big, they fit in 0-1 month, it said it was made out of really soft vynil but it’s actually really stiff, it looked so realistic in the pics but in real life it doesn’t, in the picture it had an actual paci, and it was really cute with a nice model, but the one i got is a magnetic paci and it’s simple.

I probably would've been more confident in my first reborn purchase had I watched this first. lol However, I knew to avoid dolls from China/Hong Kong, mostly on instinct & I've researched & purchased collector type baby dolls for my granddaughter, so recognized those being passed off as reborns (with inflated prices). I've been looking at reborns on and off for more than 5 yrs. However I'm still very newbie concerning them. I was off on one of my curious ebay jaunts when I came across a saskia sculpt for sale & fell head over heels in love. Due to working much overtime, I actually had the funds to buy her. But instead, I looked up other saskia sculpts for sale (for acceptable price range), I inspected the photos closely over & over again for an entire week as I did the description. I did look for buyer feedback ect which was 100 percent & good comments. It seems I did closely to what your recommending. I did worry a great deal until she arrived. But was not in the least disappointed. However I do have a question. Should the paperwork state the reborn was painted by one person & reborned by another.........and what does that mean exactly?

I always filter to US only, I don't trust other countries. I also don't even look at ones that are a stock or model photo. I gave only bought one, a Lane. No complaints but it was my first. I'd rather buy kits from BB and make my own so I know what I'm getting and I can make however I want. :) I bid and cross my fingers cuz I don't like breaking the bank

When I got my first report I was about 13 and I got badly scammed by Npk dolls, the doll was definitely cute but not a reborn, luckily later on i learned to paint and now I make most of my babies

Not only are the kits from China stolen, I've heard that the quality is really crappy too. I've seen tons of complaints about the lady from Spain too.

Hey Steph. I'm not totally stoopid although this question might verge on that, what justifies let's say a silicone selling for 7 0r 8 grand please - apart from the obvious: silicone? Ditto in terms of a top price for a reborn. Annnnd, at what point does a person say "get outta" here in terms of value put on the doll ... or is this a case of the consumer market pushing up the price of a reborn/silicone? Apologies, I don't think I've phrased this question properly 😣 I guess it's a matter of researching the market and what's on offer ... I'm new to the love for reborns etc. I could literally gaze upon some of their beauty 'til the cows come home and many I day I've done that 😣

I purchased a doll and the feed back by time I received my doll I waited all day for the package and mail man told me that I didn't have no packages for the day but on my phone tracking said out for delivery 📦 then after my mail man told me no packages for the day I checked my tracking again it it said delivered to me and I didn't receive it and I tried everything to get answers from seller stopped messages to me and and my report from Ebay that seller had a tracking number and that my package was delivered I never received my package from that seller and Ebay would not honor my lost when I looked again at seller feedback a lot of people didn't receive there's either about 7 of them in a row one person said the same
