Props to you showcasing in the first spar example that its a high risk high reward technique. If you land it, its a possible KO, if not you can get caught & dumped leaving you in a really bad position. Its how it be. 😅

Tip 5 careful with knees while sparring… they do big dam if something goes wrong. Same with elbows.

Yes, I had a guy do this out of the blue about a month ago during what was supposed to be a light spar. I thought he was coming in to clinch and he grabbed both of my arms for leverage and did a jumping knee right into my sternum. I felt every breath I took for at least the next 2 weeks, and it's still very sensitive. If you can't throw knees with control, save them for the bag and pads.

Me trying this as I master the art of face plants… I guess I could enter a comedy audition by showcasing my flying knee attempts.

That first knee was rough haha. Nice landings too. I wish everyone would perfect their knees on a bag before unleashing them 😂

Those are really great tips that no one else is really talking about. Does the same apply to the flying switch knee?
@MMAShreddedАй бұрын
it depends if it is a scissor knee or not! many different types of jump knees!

My bag is on a stand so it would definitely fall over if I did that.

Quick question, is there a difference to executing a flying knee while grappling or is it like a distraction? Cause to my eye it looks like you can get the same height without having to jump the way you do while grappling unless the goal was to avoid a leg sweep at the same time.

what do you mean by flying knee while grappling? like in MMA?
