There's a bit of a discrepancy around using innovation in your continuous improvement efforts. On one hand, there's a general philosophy that you should not use unproven technology in your processes.
On the other hand, Lean practitioners often encourage you to have a bias for action, meaning you should start making changes before you are certain what the end state might be, or should go into a project knowing that trial and error will be a big part of the improvement process.
In this episode of 'Ramblings of a Continuous Improvement Coach', I talk about how to reconcile this split in philosophy.
