Maryam of Bethlehem, The Little Arab - Sister Emmanuel Maillard

My sister-in-law is a cloistered Carmelite. I knew her briefly before she became a nun, when she was just a teenager... Even as a teenager she was above and beyond... She would sleep on the floor next to her bed as a sacrifice. I don't think I ever heard her complain once when asked to do anything around the house, and her list of chores were very long, at her request of course. She would stay up long into the night to pray. She gave up all of her cd's and movies (unheard of for most teenagers). She was truly an inspiration, and continues to be one to me today. We feel immeasurably blessed to have her praying for us and the world each and every day!

The first martyrs during the horrible Reign of Terror who were canonized as saints were The Martyrs of Compiègne, 16 tough-as-nails Carmelite sisters. As their thug guards unjustly ushered them to the guillotine, the sisters showed no fear, forgave their captors, and peacefully sang Laudate Dominum. Yep, Carmelite nuns are indeed the real deal.

My maternal grandmother chose to be dressed as a Carmelite nun as her mortuary clothing. My mother has a first cousin who is a Carmelite nun. Aunt Irene Campos Albala. She's one year younger than my mom. If she's still alive, I know that she's in a nuns retirement home in Spain. They were very mischievous together as young girls, but then she had tuberculosis, and because antibiotics had just begun to exist to save her life, and her family was able to get them, she saw it as a miracle, and decided to consecrate her life to Jesus Christ and become a Carmelite nun. She's definitely fits the level headed tough description. They all are and were. My mother's generation and the two mothers of them all. My aunt Irene named after her mother, my grandmother's older sister. Can/could be very loving, caring, do so much to make others happy, take so much pride in their very hard work, but also level headed tough, yet great senses of humor. We all used to laugh so much together at any kind of family gatherings.

My cousin is a Carmelite nun. I have huge amounts of respect for her.

The hungry wolf is prowling further, wider & more than ever in this challenging & testing times to devour as much as he can. St Michael, St Benedict, St Faustina & all our guardian Angels & Saints protect us & pray for us. Amen 🙏

SADLY Father many people believe that unless someone is foaming from the mouth; they are not affected by Satan. People actually believe that they are in complete control of their lives and emotions. 😔

This popped up today and I absolutely needed it! I’m honestly getting lazy, it’s causing problems making me feel weak in my body and all I do is feel sorry for myself. Before I saw this video, I watched another that said that laziness, idleness, is a demon. So I prayed today that God would take it away from me. I feel more energetic but I can feel the pull of it. You have given me a weapon against it. I’m going to work hard today, i am going to work hard tomorrow. I’m going to make a list and get started! I’m tired of feeling lazy tired and sorry for myself. I’m gaining weight! I have stated to have high cholesterol problems This laziness is trying to kill me! I’m going to say my rosary and pray than get up and get busy. I am going to get the book! It’s amazing how many times one of your older videos have popped up out of the blue on my KZfaq and it is exactly what I needed! God works in mysterious ways! Thank you Father! There was a woman in my town that lost her dog. I offered to put up a money reward for the dog’s return to entice people to help look. We did not know each other but I had reached out to her. She asked me why was I willing to do this? I told her I was Catholic 😀

The devil knows what we are tempted by, and sometimes things will come that can pull you back, even things that seem quite innocent to start with you then realise later it was to pull you away from being with God, so cleaver and cunning, I’m speaking about it happening to me only a few days ago, your plan has been foiled evil one! I bought the book, the 1st time you mentioned it!! 😀 I feel like I'm going through what the nun in Spain was going through. I get looks at my local church, I'm shunned and feel unwelcomed, even by the priests. Been going 3 yrs everyday and only 1or 2 people have said hi to me. I have smiled and waved hi when I walked by and make eye contact. I finally couldn't take it anymore and broke down and cried and decided to go to another church further away. Thank you Fr. Mark. I bought this book a week ago because of the stories you have been sharing about Saint Maryam. I am often tempted to complain and never thought of it in terms of being attacked by the devil. Complaining comes so natural in our society. Really working hard to notice and stop myself before complaining. I notice that when I find myself wanting to complain about something, but am able to not complain, my focus is turned toward God and I find myself being more grateful and thankful. Thanking God for whatever situation rather than complaining. Oh, to be content in all things- working on it, but it is hard. Thank you for your daily inspiration. I wake up each day and your thoughts are the first thing I listen to as I begin my prayer time!
