It’s beautiful here in the winter November to March are the best with temperatures in the mid 60s to 80s but 100+ degree temperatures starting in April until October make it hard to enjoy the city. July and August are truly unbearable with heat spells of 110 degrees and no relief at night with temperatures only dropping to the 90s, everything is confined indoors for these months because heat stroke is a very serious concern and with AC needing to run 24/7 during that time of year you can imagine the power bills. An outage or broken AC unit is anxiety inducing as it can quickly make your home uninhabitable.

The thing i love the most about working from home since 2020, besides no commute, is that I dont have to go outside to leave my car going into a building and leaving a building to go to my car 5 days a week. The heat is the worst, but i live here for the other great 5 months of the year

I lived in Joshua Tree for 4 years and I loved the 100 degree + heat. Now I live in Washington DC and I can't stand the cold, my heart is yearning for the desert biome! I miss it. My mental health has really declined since leaving the desert. Planning on making the move to Phoenix in the next year ❤️ it's also cheaper then DC 😂

He forgot to add House A/C will not last and No cold water to shower in the Summer time. Hight electric bills.
@EverythingPhoenix
@EverythingPhoenix 11 ай бұрын
Hello! I would say it really depends - MOST A/Cs will last through the summer unless you aren't taking care of it or servicing it as often as needed. This year with 31+ days in a ROW of 110+ degree weather we are seeing more ACs quit or struggle, but it is fixable... In regards to the no cold water - I mean it gets slightly cold but definitely not ice bath cold...! LOL! For the high electric bills there are also ways around this, but only so many ways before you spend more money on solar or roasting in your house! I would definitely take the higher electric bills in the summer over shoveling snow in the winter!

I’m from Lincoln, Nebraska and I’ve been here for 3 months. I agree with this list, just would add another thing: Homes here not having a BASEMENT is a huge shock that folks from other areas really need to brace themselves for!! I’m still not over this… Houses are more expensive with less square footage (no basement)!! It’s tough to wrap my head around this!! Also I miss the change of seasons and when tree leaves change colors around Halloween/Thanksgiving… My husband loves it here but I’m homesick…

Im in gilbert, southeast of Phoenix and I have a 2400 sq ft basement. They were a trend in the late 90s if I remember correctly. There would be trick driving up and down the road asking if we wanted dirt. They're around, but there aren't a lot of them.

I moved here last year from Montana. I'm still not sold. The heat is very hard for me. And I still feel like I'm just visiting. Not sure I can deal with the no seasons, same day the exact same. Thoughts?
@EverythingPhoenix
@EverythingPhoenix Жыл бұрын
Hi Matt! Thanks for watching and supporting us! It definitely takes some getting used to Arizona. I'm originally from Omaha, Nebraska and I originally felt the same way. 18+ years later and I truly feel this place is home! It didn't take 18 years to feel this way, but it did take finding my "community" of friends and finding the right actual community for me and my family to live! There are some very quaint neighborhoods around the Valley that make me feel like I'm back in the midwest! The heat is brutal at first, but you start to get used to it. Tinted car windows, bucket hats, solar sleeves, a gallon of sunscreen and a BOATLOAD of water will definitely help! I think last year was one of the hotter and dryer summers, and this winter was incredibly wet and cold (not compared to Montana though...) We do have some seasons here, but we often skip spring... Fall is the BEST. Not everybody will love it here, but we hope you warm up to it! If there's every anything we can help you with in terms of real estate or exploring the valley, please don't hesitate to let us know!

yes skin cancer prevalence is very high in the american southwest. it's even worse at higher elevation places which phoenix is not as it's low desert.

Number it’s hot 🥵 number two it gets to 125 it’s hot number three cost of living is expensive number 4 stay out of West Phoenix in North Phoenix up to Dunlap drag Infested if you move to Chandler or Scarsdale or Carefree or even anthems, you’re good number 5 A lot of the in certain parts of Phoenix, but if you like getting outdoors and you like the green nature and cool weather, I would say move to Flagstaff Sedona, Payson Prescott, and the northern parts of Arizona is like 7000 altitude don’t come here
