I have done both part time and full tome. The number one thing that I have learned is that when I was busier, I got more done. When I did it full time, I thought I had the entire day and ultimately less got done. Also when you are starting, its good to keep social connections because it is so lonely going full time. I was part time for 3 years and in that time I learned so MUCH. There are so many pros to staying part time until a foundation is built. I agree woth Daymond there are way too many Fake Gurus making videos with their $997 package. The biggest one I have seen is digital marketing (which I am in). It took me 5 years to get where I am now and every day I have to work because technology is changing and therefore marketing is changing. These Fake SMMA gurus talk about "you don't need to be an expert". They are literally encouraging people to buy their course and scam business owners. Its really sick because it undermines what myself and so many genuine SMMA owners are doing

I agree with him. You should keep your day job to cover your basis and work on your project on the side.

@@nut2611 I definitely agree with that too. But if you are just starting off your business, you cant depend on it 100% at first. When your business becomes stable, then you can quit 😂

Totally agree with taking your time to test things out, while having the security of a full-time job that's paying the bills. That way you're making decisions to drive your business forward based on what feels authentically right rather than "I need this to pay the bills". I love my full-time advertising job, but I'm also passionate about helping people manage stress in their busy lives through nutrition and fitness - so with my wellness coaching for helping over-achievers get centred I'm combining both my worlds together!

Very eye opening. I used to think I was a failure working a second job whilst teaching and performing. It was Marie who made me shift my thinking. I am now proud to work part-time in an office and teach dance in the time outside of that. I’m more financially stable and it also gives you a break from your business. Like Daymond said you learn from your network and what the day job is doing well. Thanks for sharing this Marie.

He speaking the truth, the testimonial is from my own experience now, i quit my day job to fully focus on my business, ending up badly dealing with vendor (which is truly a letdown cause getting con) my business partner are not enthusiast ending up taking advantage of me, i do 95% of everything, so ending up starting searching for the job now, all the hardwork money i save for a year finish in 3 months, lucky i have money to allocate to revive myself back, and if i want to do business, i'm going to start small and do on my own for a start and grow on my own pace, so low risk but reward better for me mentally and physically.

Many professionals dream about becoming their own boss - a full 62% of Americans, according to one survey. They often envision the classic image of entrepreneurship: triumphantly giving one’s notice, and then pounding the pavement to hunt for clients. But that “all or nothing” strategy is needlessly high risk and, almost always, is the wrong path forward. Instead, the correct answer to “Should I become an entrepreneur?” is two-fold: Go ahead and start your business. But don’t quit your day job

This is the assessment. You can pursue a side dream--but be smart. This is my weekly topic for my own subscribers. Career. One thing that can really bring a person into depression is 40 hours a week of hating their job. The job is literally almost half of the waking life. The problem many people have is that they have a craving for security. The person will tolerate being unhappy if that is their normality. People would rather have secure bitterness than the fear of stepping off the cliff. The fact is that you can change your career anytime. At 40 or 50. I once knew a car salesman of 30 years who did really well but started to hate his job--so became a nurse at 57. He is now a travel contractor. His friends told him he would be 57 by the time he got licensed as an RN. He told them he would be 57 anyway. So he will now spend the next ten years doing something he likes instead of something he hates. But you have to decide if it is life on the sea you hate or just that ship you're traveling on. In other words--do you hate your trade or just the company you're at? But whatever you aren't happy with you must change and continue to advance yourself. Hope this helps someone---Charles.
