I used Zip Strip paint stripper the old formula for most of my 72 Roadrunner. The stuff was wicked because of the fumes! I would paint it on and it would basically melt the undercoating off. I finally discovered an electric needle scaler I bought from Harbor Freight and that worked great.

I use the same tool and it works great. I hated using heat because it still leaves residue and scrapers leave gouges

So how dangerous is this undercoating stuff. Does it really have asbestos?

Not knocking anyone here. But why remove 50+ year old undercoating that has clearly done a decent job at protecting the metal underneath it? Just curious.
