The problem with tasers is they have a roughly 50% effectiveness rate. Essentially, you're gambling your life over a 50% chance. Obviously the rookies are with FTO's, which would allow both a lethal and less lethal to be ready. In the real world, almost all cars have 1 cop. Given the manpower shortage, they may not have another unit with em. While I'm not law enforcement, I carry a concealed firearm. I don't carry less lethal tools because of their varying levels of effectiveness. Obviously if there is no threat of death or grevious bodily harm to myself or others, as a civilian, I have the luxury of not getting involved.

Not just, "metropolitan" or "metro" units normally means the centre of a city, so this metro unit is for downtown toronto

Andrew Dobbin in extreme situations no one cares. We had a guy shoot at a cop and run and one of the officers said “THERE’S THE F*CKER OVER THERE!” She didn’t even get a reprimand 😂
