Hi Loves, I finally tried the NEW Wetline Xtreme Gel for my Wash and Go on my Natural Hair and well it was an epic fail. Don't use Weltine Xtreme Gel on 4C Hair. Watch this video to see why.
There are so many mix reviews with this product and I feel like I added to the pot of inconsistent reviews as I didn't wait for the hair to completely dry and show you guys. Please accept my apologies. Please remember to share with your 4C Hair friends and family.

Moisture was the issue. It looks like the hair was not wet enough, also she mentioned not using a leave in. No leave in + not enough water+ gel= flakey mess. Also, wash and go’s are cute but it’s supposed to allow naturals to have maximum moisture. Kinky haired folks should not be trying to get 7 days out of a wash n go, just wet or condition your hair again.

I’ve been using this gel my whole life, I see no problem with it at all, and I have 4c hair, my hair has grew ever since I used this gel, before you add in the gel make sure your hair is somewhat wet with some conditioner, then run it threw your hands and put it on the hair if it drys fasted use castor oil!

Wetline works great for me, never flakes. I guess this is why finding the right products is such a tedious, ongoing process. Different products in different combinations work for different people. I'm sticking with the Wetline! Update 2023 I'm using Uncle Funky's Daughter and Innersense on wash and go's. A bit of Wetline over that isn't always necessary, but doesn't hurt.

I don’t know if you know but that Cantu leave in conditioner you used in the review is very temperamental with most Gels, it flakes a lot. People who have tested the old and the new formula of the wetline gel with that leave in have complained about flaking, but when they try another leave in the results are very different, I know the Cantu for naturals curl cream works well with this gel. The Cantu leave in isn’t a good leave in anymore especially after they changed the ingredients, it dries out natural hair and it’s not very moisturizing so you may want revisit this gel with a better leave in.

I have 4b4c high prosody hair, my hair is very temperamental with what Products will keep it moisturized and defined but this gel not only defines your hair but if you use the LOC method, with the right leave in, will keep your hair moisturized, defined and soft lasting at least 5 to 6 days.

Everyone is saying this and that about xtreme gel but no one is making gel for 4c hair. I’ve tried every gel i can find, i have even tried every eco styler gel they have and none of it worked. I’m not upset or anything because everyone has their own opinion. But xtreme gel is great for the slick down.

My Nigerian hair does not like that wetline gel either. I concluded for myself shortly before watching this video that it Should be trashed for me! Thank you for the video give me confirmation that I’m not alone!

Well I have thicker 4C hair than what you have. This has been the best gel that I've used so far and I never experienced flaking at all. This gel actually made my hair more moisturized than any other gels that I've tried, although, I have not used eco styler bc my sisters said it is very drying to her hair.... and she's biracial. I recommended Wetline and she likes it more than EcoStyler.

Thanks for the warning I’ve been searching for a gel that would define my hair. I think I’ll try the Camille Rose Aloe Whipped gel. I love their products and it’s all natural. Or what gel do you recommend?

I really can't recommend a particular gel because you know your hair better and what it likes and it doesn't like. I think it is really important to read about the ingredients in your desired products and look at those who have similar hair textures that resembles yours and go from there. I'll say it doesn't hurt to try something new, especially when you have time to work with the product and you don't have to go somewhere.

I gave the gel to my biracial niece because it works better for her. I also can’t use Eco. Man I’m clutching my pearls!!! 😩🤦🏾‍♀️

I just used melanin leave in paired with the wetline extreme gel and I got no flakes after it all dried. I sat under a hooded dryer though for probably 2 hours. My hair feels soft and is not crunchy at all but really defined. I have extremely low porosity, high density, fine strands, 4b/4c hair. I will follow up in a few days to see how long it lasts. I normally keep a wash n go for 7 days so hopefully this will also last that long.

@@Lol-mo7bl just remembered that I forgot to follow up. I had no flaking at all. It lasted for 7 days as well. So all is good. Didn’t seem abnormally tangled when I washed after the seven days either.

Okay so I previously had a 5kg jar of the new (Navy cap) wetline. Beautiful on my nigerian hair ! Just got the old formular (green cap ) and my hair looks likes yours after three days in a sleek pony 😂😂... and the flaking ??? Boy !

Hey, so you said that you didn't wait for your hair to dry, so it's not the Gel's fault, right? Also, what porosity hair do you have? It's better to abandon the term 4c and stuff like that because people usually rely on those terms, but the moisture of their hair has nothing to do with the "generic" definitions with 4c hair and other types. Also, you said that you put leave-in and then the gel? I'm sure you are supposed to put something else (like a hair smoothie or moisturizer) first before putting gel and make sure you're hair is still warm and damp, especially if you have low porosity hair.

I had the exact same problem with wet line gel. I used it and my hair was itching and full of flakes. I thought I only felt this way about this gel. The first time I tried it, it was itchy and just awful but I said, well I’ll try it again and it did the same thing. I threw it out.

Do you have high porosity? I do, my hair looked just like yours after using wet line. I really can’t use any jells with the exception of s-curl styling jell.

Pamela Dishman I have high porosity hair and my hair looks just fine with this gel, you have to use the right combination of leave in and butters to make sure that your hair doesn’t feel dry and frizzy.

I used it alone. Drench my hair with water, sit under a hooded dryer for about 2hrs. Spray hair gloss and good to go. Last about 5-6 days. Hair becomes softer as the it gets old.

In my experience Eco and Wetline are for 4A, and type 3. 4B and 4C use grease. The best curl define gel I found came from Shea moisture curling gel and for 12 dollars or pounds a bottle you can get a year's supply of hair grease. Curl definition and curl defining cream is the new perm, heat straightening. Waste of money. You don't need curl definition. You need grease on the ends and rest of the hair so you retain length. Do a twist out of some flexi rods for definition. Focus on using grease to retain length.

hey guys just wanted to say that gel is great for definition, but a lot of ppl forget that moisture is the leading cause of definintion. what i'm saying is as a 4c guy i find that lots of water plus gel helps my curls to be defined for weeks at hand! i'm here if anyone has questions! :)

Lusters Jherri Juice under wetline will get you the definition and leave your hair dumb moisturized for daysss

I have 4B4C hair and my hair is great with this gel, you have to find a routine that actually moisturizes and defines your hair well before you put in this gel or your hair will be frizzy, that was one of the mistakes I was making when I first was natural. But when you actually find a leave in or a curl cream that actually defines and moisturizes your hair then once you put in the gel it just locks in the curls you have created from the moisturization.

I would suggest you oil your scalp with Jamaican castor oil after you deep condition. Then used shea butter mixed with coconut oil. & don't forget to have a spray bottle of water to keep your hair moist. Comb with a wide tooth comb before applying ECO style blackseed&castor oil product, then the Xtreme gel. Use an demi brush for definition then separate the curls. Make sure to sit under a dryer. Pick the roots. Please try one last time.💖

I use wetline all the time it’s the perfect gel for me I don’t have any issues with it at all no flakes whatsoever maybe your hair wasn’t wet enough 🤷🏽‍♀️

Same thing happened to me. I am not 4c and the product dehydrates my hair. No one should be using this product because it will strip your hair.

Wow…I’m not sure why people are making such rude comments to this beautiful Nigerian Queen. She just giving her opinion of how it worked on her hair. There’s are so many options for gels out there. I wanted to hear unsponsored feedback and if it has Soduim Hydroxide in the product which someone mentioned. It’s a no for me. Of course I’m gonna fact check this but I probably wouldn’t have if it wasn’t mentioned. If took me 2 years to get my hair together (after falling out) after using a product with that in it. The crown of my hair is still thin and I’m still mad (Deva curl gel) they have since changed their ingredients. Anyhow no shade just saying. Much love. Thank you

The bottom line is some gels do not work out for us. For me, curl custard does nothing but eco gel works wonders. I am sorry it did not work out for you. If Eco works, stay with it. Your hair is bountiful thick, and beautiful. It sucks when a product fails.

I just watched a video saying there is LYE in Wetline 😲😲 If you are natural stay away from "Sodium Hydroxide" you mines well just put a relaxer in your head if your gonna use products containing that stuff. Not everyone wants to loosen their curls.. This is why I'm sticking to black owned products yeah they might be alittle more pricey but I don't have to worry about them sneaking chemicals in to relax our hair..Smfh

Sodium hydroxide so caustic soda is toxic in a certain concentration and in lab work some time i have NaOH in my hand and it didn't rotten if 😂 in cosmetics products there is a regulation in concentration of NaOH so don't panic 😆

Water is in Perms will it relax our hair? People believe anything. It’s a ph balancer so for perms it makes sure you don’t get 3rd degree burns and permanently change the ph level of your scalp. In gels it keeps the tell from becoming solid or too liquify and keeping it in a perfect gel state

I've been using Wetline for a year, it has never relaxed my curls. I will continue using it.
