I think people underestimate how great your ears are. You cannot recreate songs with this much accuracy without being able to hear the intricacies of the original performances. As a music teacher, I am often more impressed with being able to hear what makes a performance sound the way it does. On top of that you can actually execute it to boot.. amazing job man, truly. Thanks for giving me so much to listen to.. over and over again.

To the 74 jerk-offs who gave a thumbs down: what is your freaking problem? Is it the song you do not like? Personally, I’m not crazy about the song either. I was tired of it in the 80s. But you cannot deny the snazzy of this version. One guy and an acoustic guitar did a whole lot better than all 74 of you put together ever could. Every nuance. Every breath taken. Captured the mood and atmosphere of that song and made it even more spiritual. Somehow.. I have recently been paying close attention to Mike’s videos here on KZfaq. Years ago I was exposed to the Africa cover like everyone else but I put it aside for way too long, and only recently with Weezer’s version being so popular I stumbled back in to this page only to discover all these amazing covers that just leave me speechless every time I hear them. I don’t know how he gets them all so perfect. I don’t know how he remembers all the cords and all the lyrics so well. I like to consider myself a person who pays attention to those types of details, but I can’t even remember all the songs I actually like near as well as he does.

Mike's a gracious guy and hearing a good chunk of the KZfaq video songs in person was beyond a treat. If you can make it to the Little Bear do it. You won't be disappointed. This is my suggestion. We request Mr. Masse for a concert date, and then setup everything through a crowd (fan) funding campaign. We all congregate at the selected venue and feel blessed that we got to hear Mr. Masse in person in our lifetime.
