This could be the most beautiful tribute to a woman any man has ever given. I don't know if the writer, Bob McDill loved Amanda; but I believe that Don did. Still brings tears to my eyes, over 40 year later.

I did not know Don Williams existed until friends took me to a concert in the mid 70s. I immediately fell in love with his voice and became a forever fan. I seen him twice that year.

I love this song a lot, When I worked in radio back in the 80's I played it all the time. Then in the 90's my son named his daughter Amanda and she has been the number one grand kid ever since

I absolutely LOVE this version of this song. I don't know why classic country stations play Waylon Jennings's version instead of this one. Don't get me wrong, I like Waylon Jennings and I like his version, but, he never could put the feeling into it that Don Williams could.
