Күн бұрынFormer President Donald Trump announced Sen. J.D. Vance as his pick for vice president on Monday.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social while the Republican National Convention is going on in Milwaukee.
"J.D. has had a very successful business career in Technology and Finance, and now, during the Campaign, will be strongly focused on the people he fought so brilliantly for, the American Workers and Farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond," Trump said.
Vance is a relative newcomer to politics. He was elected in 2022 as the junior U.S. senator from Ohio.

07/18/2024 - I just wanted to comment on a story you had this morning. There was a woman on there, I believe she was from the LA times, that said the JD Vance had lied about his mothers sobriety. She said that JD said she was 10 years sober, when in actuality she wouldn't be 10 years sober until January. Apparently she didn't watch 3 minutes after he said that, because he did clarify that a few minutes later. Please don't turn allow guests to flat out lie on your programs because they are Democrats. JD did clarify that his mother's sobriety would not be 10 years until January. Anyone can see that in his speech. Let's keep the media honest.
