Marty's fifth appearance. An earlier upload included a segment from SNL (synchronized swimming with Marty and Harry Shearer). NBC Universal blocked it due to copyright restriction, so this revised upload omits that portion of the video.

Fine, I'll bring it up. WHAT HAPPENED BEHIND THE SCENES?? Why the animosity with Paul? Did Paul and Martin get into a fight before the show? Fascinating. And awesome of course

Paul and Martin have known each other and have been close friends since 1972, when both were in the Toronto stage production of “Godspell,” Martin as one of the actors and Paul as the music director. Any “feud” they air out in public is their own little gag.

Wow this aired on my 10th birthday. Oddly ,my haircut and Marty's were similar then, although we traveled in different circles,and had not in fact,even ever met.

Don Giller: I don't get Martin Short's "Well I met Ron Leibman and that was fine"--joke. I suppose because he was mostly a character actor and not a huge "star" that it made Short not get anxious? Just curious whether there was some inside about that reference...
