Walkway theme from DKC1 in pristine studio quality. This was made possible by locating the sounds from workstation keyboards and drum machines such as the Korg Wavestation, Roland S770, and Roland R8, and plugging them into the music instruction data ripped from the game, plus a little mixing magic to create might have sounded like with the veil of 16bit compression lifted. my dad died in 1996 , I was 13. This was one of the games we played together. He was disabled so couldnt do much with us kids but he could play nintendo with us and so that is what we did. This song reminds me of him and the fact he is gone. Idk its so depressing to me yet nostalgic I cant help but listen to it

I love how the natural jungle sounds and instruments fuse so well with the mining/industrial motif. This actually sounds like concert quality music now. I'd totally pay to hear a band play this music!

This is still one of the most beautifully soul-soaring compositions I've ever heard. And now I'm about to listen to your edit. I may cry. Edit: This is the music piece within which I felt the other half of my soul answer my call (when one flute "calls" and a softer flute "answers".) I played this while I was in an abandoned mineshaft in Minecraft. And let me tell you, it fits right in. And Maybe the next time I go to the German museum( in real life obliviously) where they literally built a giant mineshaft inside the museum I MIGHT play it throughout the entire look at those mines. I'm pretty sure it would fit there as well.

I love how at the time some people thought that DK was playing through some kind of new console it was that good😅On an system that came out in 89/90!!! I love how we can still reflect on a time where human intelligences was pushing early tech hardware/software so hard they could make a masterpieces like this.

just listened to them side by side and I like how it sounds the same as the original but you made it a lot clearer and less "fuzzy" rather than changing the sounds for something that is similar but does not quite fit ,when you do it the way you have here it keeps the same feel as the original game

the pipe hit from arround 0:01 or 0:02 was the only sample missing to restore this. Someone found it a few days ago while sam was updating northern hemispheres, so he quickly went on to finish life on the mines that same stream :P

I ran up mountainous roads at night in the south of Spain to this music. I could see the stars vividly and the lights from surrounding villages across the hills and valleys. I couldn't stop running to this song.
