I'm so impressed with the Dream Team. I heard the mentors talking with the group during the last night in West Union. Without hesitation, these mentors declared their love for the kids. Tears in my eyes just hearing that.

It's funny to hear people say RAGBRAI is the biggest family reunion. There is a very similar feeling at Airventure every summer in Oshkosh, WI. The largest airshow in the world with hundreds of thousands of your closest friends. It's so similar to this. Most people tent camp and it's a huge community get together for a week. 2023 I'm going for RAGBRAI instead and I AM STOKED!!!

Hey thanks for featuring the USDA NRCS and the good work they do. Of course I'm biased being a retired soil scientist with them. NRCS has always been one of those agencies you never hear much about, but they do some really cool work. Enjoy RAGBRAI!

Ryan, thanks so much for sharing this! I LOVE RAGBRAI!! I have done RAGBRAI twice and I live in Iowa. It is everything you say. It is the most welcoming environment and highlight of hospitality and small towns. Everyone in town opens up to this amazing movement of cyclist every summer and you can only understand if you are a part of it. Pumpkin pie is so good. We also make bread from it. I eat regular pumpkins when I can, bake them in the oven, and scrape off the skin, roast the seeds. so good.

Thanks for these great tales of Ragbrai. I finished my 14th this year and as always….it ends with can’t wait until next year. Your storytelling is the best I’ve seen to show others the variety and great feels all week long. Also a new subscriber…have been following Amelia for years so she gets some cred for the connect! Last, love Amelia’s comment in either this or the previous…a great message for cyclists…we can be so much more inviting and open, cycling is for all…where I am it’s takes some boldness to jump in as it seems u have to be kitted out, ride a $1000+ bike, and talk the lingo and to ride…ragbrai has been a great training ground for me to learn to be an ambassador to others. Look forward to connecting in person next year!

OMG that really is one of the best pieces of playground equipment I've ever seen! My city is currently in the process of replacing older playgrounds at schools and parks, and they're all pretty disappointingly sterile and safe! But THAT thing looks like it could impart some life lessons (lol) and a lot of fun!
