I was fortunate enough to be able to see her as the original Cassie in A Chorus Line. So wonderful to see this interview, as it shows what a genuine, thoughtful, and REAL person she is.

This is an absolutely fascinating interview - and it makes me want to seek out Ms. McKechnie's book. But I must say that these two hosts (the guy especially) drive me crazy in how they repeatedly interrupt their guest. I guess I'm spoiled by NPR interview programs that tend to be much better in this regard. That complaint aside, this is great stuff.

She's too kind. He did treat her badly.

She wanted to sell the book. Her story on Michael is questionable?

I was hoping the male co-host would not be on it

Eight shows a week sounds insanely unfair to performers. It just sounds - mean. Why should such talented humans be burdened with such a horrific work load? Shouldn’t the most gifted of us work less? Why’s it the opposite for Broadway performers? I mean I know why: greedy landlords who knocked down all but a handful of theaters. But I think, as an audience member, it needs to stop.
