I understand that there is a language and cultural barrier between most European and American cultures. If you'd use your eyes, you will see the awe. Perhaps if that was the case, European history may not have been so bloody.

Let me make this clear. Donna Summer eclipses them ALL. YES all of them. She is hands down in my humble opinion better than Aretha, Mariah, Celine,Whitney, Chaka khan, Patti, Tina Marie, you name it. Since her burst upon the music scene, Ms. Summer had such a unique, translucent, crystal clear, resounding voice with legendary range, and unlike those I mentioned and others I haven't, Ms. Summer didn't STRAIN or force her voice. It just flowed with such an other worldly projection and resonance that belied adequate description. She is the ONLY one whom I've heard who sounded 110 percent and more, PRECISELY as her studio recordings. The ONLY other female singer who accomplished that was none other than Barbara Streisand. Outside of that no one else belongs in the same zipcode mate, with Donna Summer. I will ALWAYS believe this.

This was what was supposed to happen. The Three Degrees traveled and entertained globally bringing their look, sound, persona and culture with them. In doing so, they subtly reminded the world how much we share in common despite clear differences. When a person becomes multi-lingual you will never see the world in the same light ever again as you gain insight to the inner-workings of a culture. From an early age, I love hearing someone sing in English when their birth language is German. The phrasing and tone is unique and distinctive.
