But Kobe did it on 46 fg attempts and only had 2 assists and it ended as a blow out. All respect to Kobe and its still one of the greatest games but there are some factors that need to be mentioned like the amount of attempts, rebounds, assists. In my personal opinion this game from Donovan and the Luka one was better than Kobe's 81

@@innerfire2399 I mean I understand that, but by that logic there will never be a better performance ever because there will always be an argument "defense was higher back then" even if someone drops 100 points. Might aswell reset record standings and start from scratch by that logic. Its not the players fault that rules changed. You have a bunch of players now how have a potential and probably are better than previous greats but they will never get a chance to prove it because of the defense narrative

What's even crazier is they were trailing by 20+, and that 4th quarter final minute was crazyyyy which was finished by Mitchell's sick free throw play. That's gotta be one of the craziest games I've seen, and I'm not even a Cavs fan.

So much better than bookers game. Cause he actually won. Makes you appreciate Kobes 81 so much more. It was in regulation and led to a win. I might add in a slower paced non 3 point shooting era as well.

I don’t like how the game evolves. Defense does not matter anymore. Dudes scoring 30, 40, 50, 60 points is the new trend. NBA officials should find a way to strengthen the impact of defense in the game. Can‘t let that happening anymore, it turns into a circus…

Watching the last years in Utah, I began to think Mitchell wasn't that special, just another low efficiency high volume scorer whose stats were "empty calories". But seeing his impact on the Cavs and his game, I feel happy for his success. He's special, I changed my mind

Another insane no Call - you cant cross the free throw Line before the Ball has touched the rim, (as the shooter) - This rule was made in the late 50s so Wilt wouldnt do layups and self passes at the Line.

The most obvious free throw line violation I've ever seen was missed on Mitchell's intentional FT miss at the end. He stepped in well before the ball touched rim! Ain't no way he gets that rebound otherwise!

What a terrible missed call at the end by the refs, you can't miss a free throw shooter going into the paint to get a rebound before the ball touches the rim. Such BS officiating. The 71 points by Mitchell still nuts, but that was a terrible call that should have given the Bulls the W.
