Same goes for any kind of lipstick! ALWAYS moistrize your lips first! That way it wont be chapped later and the lipstick loks good for a longer time! (Speaking from experience 😢)

vaseline is an occlusive which means that it is going to seal all the moisture that is already on your lips and not actually hydrate/moisturise your lips if they are dry and cracked to begin with! if you're looking to hydrate and moisturise cracked lips, i would recommend lip treatments with glycerin, fatty oils etc or simply using your moisturiser (that does not contain active ingredients like bha, aha, retinol which can be a bit harsh on the lips) on your lips

i recommend CeraVe healing ointment or Aquaphor for your lips. The tubes last forever and I even use them for any dryness on my face before cleansing in the shower. Plus you can use the Aquaphor for new tattoos :D

Well its not exactly supposed to “hydrate” it just soaks the dead/crusty skin so that it doesn’t look as crusty it doesn’t get rid of the dead skin either so if u want to do that for smoother looking lips u actually gotta use lip scrub

Apply lip balm in the beginning of your makeup routine then at the end you can wipe it off and apply the lip tint like she said in the video

Side note: Vaseline is a barrier, not a hydrating ingredient. It doesn't add hydration. It just keeps it in and if you wipe it off, its gone. You may be left with a thin layer. That may seem like you have hydrated lips but really iits not.

No, you missed a step or two. Vaseline will seal in moisture but it also seals OUT moisture, so if your lips are as dry as the Sahara it's not gonna fix it alone. So 1) lip scrub, 2) moisturise on damp skin & let it absorb for a few minutes, 3) now use Vaseline. Also if you do steps 2 & 3 at night ypyr lips will be in better condition (only use scrub 3 times a week).

@@user-rd4yy9yp7sno. You would need to use a lip scrub IF your lips are already dry AF and there's literally dead skin peeling off. Because that will remove the layers of dead skin so you can then moisturize a clean base to color on. If your lips are already hydrated you don't need that step, but if you have layers of dry skin already cracked on top? Absolutely you need to power scrub that patch off

Hydrating the lips before a lip tint is a MUST!! For me, it helps even more to hydrate -> exfoliate -> Hydrate again -> lip tint! But be careful!! Don’t exfoliate if your lips are cracked to the point of bleeding, exfoliate just if there’s dead skin that is flaky and coming off easily without pain from your lips! Also don’t exfoliate frequently, just once or twice a week💟

@@jordanjones7985 I use products! I don’t know exactly the name, since I’m not native, but I heard the names “exfoliator” and “scrub” (it’s that creamy stuff with sand-like texture). Use one that’s specific for the face tho! Face is very delicate, and using body exfoliator on your face can cause more harm than good

IKR Same lol, Plus not all lipbalms do that so I keep it on still after lipliner and b4 I put on lipstick with my ones because they never do tht lol :)
