Last time we took the Money Pit Miata to the dyno we kinda realized our fuel system needed upgrading. So today we are changing all things fuel AND hopefully it’s worth our time. AND hopefully I don’t get covered in fuel … that stuff is not a good time!

I really like this channel so much, without my parents to help me nor anyone out there to be kind enough to point me in the right direction, it really gives me a lot to learn! To fix my car to run smoother it will be so cool, it's a 1989 2.3 scarlet red mustang. The second owner was my foster brother and he didn't take care of it, now I take care of her like and try to put her back together all original for the most part!

Also when you are using those ptfe lines make sure the fitting isnt just pulling the ferrule out of the line so put tape behind the “nut” and make sure it isnt pulling out too far when screwing it together

I remember when I had my fuel system all stock. Getting a stable tune was almost impossible, and i remember the thing that finally got me to upgrade was hearing my fuel pump cavitate coming into boost because of how much of a dick i had been to it. Got a bigass DW pump and a high flow rail and WOW what a difference. I cant believe I was sleeping on the fuel system for all those years. Fuel for DAYS.

As someone with an older car(2006 Chevy Aveo 1.6), I do miss what Money Pit provided... it's one of those segments that provides sustaibiliry vs immediate revenue, but IS something that those of us with passion projects love.

When you removed the factory fuel filter you said from here forward you were going to replace the rubber hoses with the new hose so you can run E85 but both the pressure side and the return line to the pump are both still the factory rubber hose?

@@stifinho5920 E46 (97-06) are more rounded. E36 was 92-97 and has this same boxy look as the mystery car. Plus it looks too big for an E30

Zach is so great at explaining everything he does. Even the complicated stuff sounds like childs play when he tell us how to do it. Which is what I think every new car enthusiast needs when they start learning to work on their car.

Yes, they are worth it, Let's see...Premium over $4 a gallon vs e85 around $2.50, and with the tune, I gain over 100 hp difference on the Dyno. Now if you're the daily driver, and wanna keep it stock, then don't upgrade...Just be ready to pay $5 a gallon for lot less power. I run the Walbro 450High Pressure, might have to prepare soon for the Walbro 525Hellcat soon

They’ve talked about that before, they don’t use lifts because most people don’t necessarily have access, which is why they were also doing the work on the miata outside on the driveway. Once things like the turbo and other difficult projects came in, they stopped using the driveway and moved the miata to the garage, just because installing a turbo kit in the heat would suck. But even if they have a lift, they don’t use it for the miata

You should put an o-ring in the groove of the fuel pump outlet so there’s outward pressure on the inside of the line when you put the clamp on
