Ignis knowing the future puts a lot of his refusal to be left behind in a new light. He knew he was going to lose Noctis, and didn't want to waste what little time they had left together.

I'll have to go back, but I believe on top of that he neither pushes Noctis forward nor tries to hold him back. He asks him *once* after he wakes up in Altissa if he's sure he wants to go forward, and when he says "Yes" Noctis accepts it and allows him to set the path forward from there.

@@trtx84 Even though he's perfectly willing to give up on the world if it means Noctis lives, he still goes through with saving it because that's what Noctis wants I love these characters so much 🥺

You look me in the eye and tell me that Ignis isn't the best character in Final Fantasy 15. A man whose loyalty is beyond comparison. Whose heart is bigger and brighter than the sun itself. Who gave up his sight, his time, sleep all of it for another. He's not even real and I'd fuckin die to keep this man alive.

@@HelloThere-bj9rw I don't know Ardyn is a contender for best villain in FF history and people saying Seph or other big antagonist are only saying that because they are in more series or because of nostalgia

Iggy's grappling arm move was inspired by the cut concept of noct being able to dagger hook up to any surface/wall. Gand engine wasnt ready for that feature in the open world I guess.

happy endings tend to be lazy crappy endings... its so easy to just reverse everything at the end of something and make it all sweet

It was the same ending. Only this time Ravus was alive. That scene in the throne room is Iggy reunited with his king in the afterlife. Just like the canon ending when Noctis is reunited with Luna on the throne.

@@trtx84 It isn't actually, read the book. This ending is a slightly different version of what happens in that, in that Noctis goes in with Ardyn and they fight Bahamut instead. Obviously we don't see that here as that story was created after this but because of that book and cancelled DLC it's heavily implied that it's what happens here too hence why it's a good ending.

I believe that the Alternate Ending is just delaying the inevitable since a sacrifice is needed to end Ardyn permanently, but Noct is still alive. The new chosen king could be Nocts descendant. And by that time the Chosen King would share the same fate of Noct in the original ending, and Ravus descendant would be the new oracle or something.

Not rly all that would've happened is it would've led to the Dawn of the Future ending instead aka canceled Episode Noctis

I believe it actually did cause Ardyn to be defeated. I believe in his weakened state from being beaten by Ignis, Noctis didn't have to make a full sacrifice to defeat him. In the final scene, you cant hear Ignis speak. I think Noctis sacrificed his hearing as a lesser sacrifice to destroy a weakened Ardyn

I always liked to believe that all the bros(including Ravus) gave portions of their life to end Ardyn's curse and defeat him. So all of them get to live, but they all live to about 50 or 60 years old.

1:08:28 It's sad that he just defeated Ardyn so quickly. The music that started on that moment was a remaster of the FF7 battle theme. Max would have lost his shit there lmao

@@Smiling_Tears Search for "The Blazing Tactician" on min 1:17 there is a little extract from the FF7 Battle theme "Those who Fight" it's a nice reference on the Ignis vs Ardyn Battle

hello man.i watched all your ffxv videos in 2days. i liked the commentary you did. i agree with you that this game is very nice right now.i also cried the first time i ended it, :) but i can understand those who say its not.i finished the game when it first got out. it was a great game but without the added parts it wasnt even close to what it is now. the last chapter after noctis awakens was like half an hour gameplay alltogether. we had to pay a lot of new money to square in order to get those new parts. while right now a new player just pays for the royal edition and its all good.that way older players of this game feel fooled. i loved your ff7remake videos as well. ffvii is my favourite game ever too. i wish you luck mate!!

@@trtx84 Experiencing the cutscenes is a part of playing the game. I'm not here to see the game 'speak for itself', I'd go play the game myself if I wanted that. I'm here to see him play it.
