I built this MIDI visualizer in Unity. This is my first time working with spline meshes, which allow me to curve the notes through multiple nodes before hitting the keys. GPUs were harmed in the 4k 60fps making of this video.

@@leleuuu1710 it was most likely not rendered in real time but either way you'd probably need very good hardware to render that in a timely manner (i think... not an expert) edit: head.. after further inspection i can say it was not rendered in real time

The E's represent my bad thoughts and the sweeper represent me, futilely trying to calm the chaos in my mind as everything goes to hell. I'm perfectly wonderfully fine I am also very tired. I just realized how high the sweepers got and while this is absolutely hilarious to me I should probably sleep.

Not as hard as you'd think, modern CPU's are pretty good at lots and lots of rigidbody simulation, which is what this is. I think unity can handle tens of thousands of objects pretty easily before choking. Probably the limiting factor here is the spline meshes, those dynamically curving notes probably aren't that performant.
