You aren't kidding, those were interesting fights. I liked that ones at 20:30 and 28:20 for their unusual mechanics. Sad that the archies got you from a linedef skip, but I agree it was still cool. Also, I saw the stats where the total wasn't show (30:35). Was that a recent feature added to dsda-doom? It turns out I was two versions behind, rocking 0.27.3.

the thumbnail fight reminds me of a fight I've seen in a quake custom map (with shamblers instead of archviles), it's not exactly the same but the concept is very similar

Nefelibeta is another name I know from Solar Struggle. He seems to like fights in spots with ledges over damaging floor. I'm betting all my Doomer chips on that bad death at 34:00 or so being due to a linedef skip. The gimmick is interesting, like a Sunlust map18 setpiece that the player is handed manual control of, but fickle Doom code will be fickle and crash the party. With that in the balance, the delicious gooey savory cheese of the final setpiece is more than warranted. 🤪

Funny that you call fight from 29:00 "unique", when it's reference or even copy of Ribbik's fights from "Frog and Toad" MAP04 - see Brendondle's newest video :) .

That's my personal theory too. Vytaan was clearly straferunning when the switch failed to happen. Another major event script failure I can think of happened to decino in TNTR when he was in Portal Facility, because of a linedef skip. Yet another reason why I play with GZedDoom. Vanilla bugs are cute until they kill your run.
