so funny how you addressed the barrels to be living things that can help you by saying keeping them alive :) and you did use 5 shots for the baron instead of 4, the friendly barrels didn't do anything :)

Compared to most other maps, this one is not much to look at. Not ugly, but very spartan in decoration. But that's not its purpose; that purpose would be to splatter a few hundred demons in straightforward action, as a decompression interval. And I respect that. Yea, next stop is the grand library. And I say, it's a mighty fine library, one of the best in Doom mapping history.

Analytical Engine by Charles Babbage? Fits nicely into the plot. I love it. Amazing what can be done with this "ancient" engine. I wonder if we will see a reference to Ada Lovelace as well.

That's even more correct when you remember, Zeppelin Armada is complevel 2. No Boom mapping tricks to be found here.

Wow, that platforming! Congrats, amazing achievement! I couldn't nearly complete that, not even with noclip cheat. :D Thankfully on skill level 2 (UV in this wad) that section is skipped.

Not only I didn't forget about the supercharge, but also saw the rockets you missed. But don't worry, as a regular Vytaan viewer, I'm already used to you not seeing things and to me it's just funny xD

I don't remember if I mentioned it. I definitely noticed it as I ran by, but maybe I never said it out loud cause I was too focused on dodging all the projectiles :p

this is a really charming map. Lots of moments that build the world - I like that the whistle toots at when you lower the gate at the end and there was a baron captaining the ship. It's just a joy. Only con: lack of cats.
@DinnerForkTongueКүн бұрын
A Baron on the timon wheel, and apparently a Cyberdemon commanding the whole group and dropping down to the field after the main ship of the fleet is raided by Dexter.

Around the six minute mark you left that station, I could swear there's a supercharge there that wasn't picked up. LOL, now I'll see if you come back for it!

Oh, one more thing: I wonder what happened to bork the sounds of the doors and the lift in the maintenance station. They're not silent when playing in GZ like they were in this footage.

I have no idea if it's a DSDA thing! Probably...
@StodgyAyatollah8 сағат бұрын
My guess is that they are joined sectors and that gzdoom handles sound propagation for that in a non vanilla way.

There were also some noticable graphical glitches in the "cloud surface" in the big wide open area... :/

I like this map, it's one of the more creative setpieces in the wad. Not extraordinary in difficulty but I like the worldbuilding and the setting, of a small airborne/motorized platoon of demons attempting to hold a tactical chokepoint. Makes Hell seem more competent than just a mindless swarm, you know? Also, that is the first evidence of the demons' brutality against normal people. I wonder if that mangled corpse was the keeper of that maintenance station... and whether he pissed off the Cyber commander. Nop, I can't blame you for missing the supercharge. Despite being so out in the open, it's hard to see because of the palette, and the hurry you are in to seek cover from the gunners in the balloons. Midi is yet again a slam dunk of a pick. From Requiem too! Those 90s wads' OSTs are the gift that keeps on giving. Somebody should make a modern (MBF21/UDMF) megawad with just these pre-2000 midis for a soundtrack - it's not even that hard of a challenge, let's be real.

Watched the whole thing. Even tho the platform section is «lacking demon slaying», it’s stil a sfinkster clenching watch. And i am usually not a fan of face cams. But your «humbleness» makes it suitable.

Hahaha, that Dev capybara is the cutest one yet! Loved it! How do they do the elastic projectile hallway? Is that a Boom thing? Also, how do BFG shots behave? Do the tracers still come out in the initial direction of fire, or do they reverse when the ball rebounds? Also that broken teleporter was very aesthetically pleasing. Good detail. Congrats on the first run!
@VytaanКүн бұрын
It was explained somewhere in an earlier comment; I believe it has to do with wind tunnels (which is surely Boom). I've never used them though, so that's pretty much all I know 😅

thanks for the playthrough, I enojoyed it a lot! I appreciate all the editing that went into making this video too. great execution of the first fight on that first attempt. the second fight is much more fun without clearing hks but I decided to leave that cheese in to make single segment a bit easier. had no idea about the softlock at the end - oops! and yeah you can get back from the capybara secret (I remember doing a slight rocket boost for that but maybe you dont even need one)
@VytaanКүн бұрын
Thanks for creating a fun map and for watching all the way! Glad you appreciated the edits :D Yeah - in hindsight I wonder if I simply shouldn't have done the cheese at all so I could spam more attempts, but having so many HKs around does make it a lot scarier. It's tempting to try and record a demo sometime...

Heh yeah :D And it's not even just about the money - it's mostly that some of these WADs/runs are really fun to share, so I'd love for more people to see them. And of course I could make them all free, but I think it's a fun and small (though some videos are 3+ hours heh) reward for people who are kind enough to support me :)
