There is something funny about the "Goblin Hewer" having high damage, armor piercing, bonus vs. large, and a low ammo count. Everything you explicitly _don't_ need against gobbos.

I Remember a time. It might have been Warhammer 1 where the same thing applied to Goblins. It was a meme until a player, with the suitable name "The Gobbo King" (and former TW yourtubee) turned it into a very viable strategy. I believe he even won a tournament or two... I think the biggest advantage of the Slayer army is the fact that the threat of a Slayer army even exists. Its so different from every other Dwarf approach, that it makes it a lot more difficult to prepare.

For sure! Like, they lost, but looking at how tattered the vampire army was, they did work. Fighting to the death instead of routing on units that do that much damage is not something to overlook.

@9:55 It looked like Garagrim was taking damage much faster than the attack animations of his opponents. My guess is he was taking damage from his own vortex ability. Probably needs to have the friendly fire turned off 😂

@@toggle3927 Not sure I'd say terribly designed so quick (though using the spin in SE combat was terrible). Bigger thing is the Blood Dragon lord is one of the few characters with enough buffs to pull to around 1k damage. In game 2 this was massive overkill and rarely worth it, in game 3 with the much larger health pools and unchanged damage values it translates to a significant boon in combat cost wise. This is a problem most foot characters have in a duel with the blood dragon lord, though 0 armor makes it much worse.

@@spellbound1875 Sorry we have years of data 0 armor no resists is a stupid design. LL Gotrek was maybe a third as effective as a basic lvl1 Dwarf Lord in combat and was completely unreliable. The blood dragon just brings clarity to the matter.

@@toggle3927 always middling melee defence for dwarf characters for some reason, even the 0 armor ones. Combined with no defensive abilities to activate in panic or heal = you melt

Thanks for showing the actual missile strength breakdown on the Goblin Hewer. That's always such a silly stat because as far as it is concerned, a single shot that deals 3000 damage once every 10 seconds is the same thing as as 38 shots that deal 32 damage once every 4 seconds and it absolutely is not. Imo, missile strength should just show the damage per hit, then have a times something multiplier after the damage number if a unit fires a spread of shots and show reload time as a separate stat. So, you know, instead of Missile Strength: 3K it would be Missile Strength: 32 x38 Reload Time: 4 Seconds

Those RoR Doomseekers are experienced Vermintide II Slayers. You can tell with the glowing skins and need to viking dive into patrols of armored elites due to their Armor Piercing and Anti Infantry traits.

Everytime you live, it means a MORE glorious death awaits! Slayers don't want to commit suicide, they want to die in glorious battle. A slayer that falls on their own axe is a great shame, a slayer that has fought in a 1000 battles is one of the most respected slayers. Assuming they actually fought honourably. They don't want to die, they want to live, but die trying.

Slayers are the coolest thing ever invented for Warhammer. The concept is just so badass. You know for a fact that any chaos horde would shit themselves if they saw a slayer army like this coming towards them. End times would have never happened if the fyreslayers showed up. Slayers are the supreme big peen boys. Dwarfs in general are just the best. Grombrindal and Gotrek could solo the entirety of the chaos wastes together. Grimnir could destroy khorne and khaine. Slayers are the best boys.

I could be wrong but it looked like garagrim was pushed over a little by the high mass crypt horror when he used the ability into the hit box of his own ability causing it to hit him as well. Was this reported to CA cause that theoretically would be a pretty easy to fix bug but kinda hard to notice.

I mean thats possible it happened, but I kinda doubt it, for 2 main reasons, one, 4,500 for a single character to take is a whole lot from that abylity, and 2, the abylity would work the same way as it does on the basic slayer version, so you'd assume that means they'd need to run a check on if the model inside the AOE is friendly or not

@@calebbarnhouse496 I don't know. It is a little hard to tell, but I think that garagrim lost a chunk of hp at least once during the animation and no one was swinging at him. At the very least, it was a visual bug since the crypt horror definitely pushed the model of garagrim outside the blue cyclone of his animation.

At 9:54, I think the issue is that when Garagrim activated his Hurricane of Death, he also got pushed back by the Varghulf in that split second; you can see that the location of his model doesn't line up exactly with the effect of his ability. Thus, he got given two hitboxes because of that weird interaction, and only the vortex section was taking his stats properly, since you can see the moment they turn on the actual model and just outright delete him.

The doomseekers best use I have found is as flankers to other doomseekers. You have them move around the flank and rear charge and then once both are sandwiching a high value squad you activate their whirlwinds at the same time. When you pull it off it is super rewarding

A Necrarch LL like Melkhior or Zacharias, with an emphasis on all manner of stiched up creatures and ofc magic. Or ( my personal wish ) a Strigoi LL, like Vorag Bloodytooth, for that thematic Ghoul faction ( Nightcourts ). Lahmians could also be interesting, but would be a bit the same as the Changeling or Slaanesh gameplay, with all the scheming and politics, since they rather be in the background pulling strings and using proxies. Multiple fun options ;)

Slayers getting ward save from kills feels wrong. If anything, they should get increased damage, but also decreased ward save from kills, as they become increasingly satisfied with their contributions to the battle, and increasingly desperate for a glorious death.

Unless the whirling death thing is some kind of weird hitbox bug, seems like CA once again fail to learn from previous mistakes. They just fixed the bastiladon's attack animation fucking it over by giving it immune to flanking, how hard would it have been to add flanking immunity to whirling death for the duration of the ability?

Having just played a game as them, the VC desperately need an update of the same quality that humans and dwarfs just got. I’m sure they’re saving that for when they add Neferata & Nagash.
