I show you guys how to replace the door lock actuator in a 2004 Honda Civic after the old one wears out. The replacement actuators are cheap and this is a relatively easy fix.

Thanks for this vid. I was curious. Had no clue that these actuators will eventually fail - My car was broken into a couple of nights ago as I was unaware that the FOB wasn't locking the right rear door! 😞 Now I know...

Great video! I have the same problem, how did you open your rear door while it’s locked?
@VincentStevenson5 жыл бұрын
You should still be able to open the door from the inside of the car, by pulling up on the plastic tab.

Maybe this is your first DIY video, but you need a lot of improvement compared to others. Video is terrible. No need to explain why. But more importantly, you need to give step-by-step instructions. In order. Don’t give “previews” of steps ahead and then repeat - somewhat a waste. Then don’t skip steps. People need detailed help. I don’t think you can just unbolt the actuator and change it like a piece of cake. Isn’t there a couple more connections to the latch? Maybe I’m wrong. Tips should be given at the time they are needed, not later. Perhaps it should be scripted and rehearsed. I only criticize if you plan on making a career out of these presentations, like the others. But I commend you for an otherwise thoughtful DIY idea to help others; I could not have done any better. The magnet and bicycle tire “irons” were key tips no one else thought of! (I wasted time writing this because you ARE better than a lot of others that aren’t helpful at all. Keep trying!)
