Great review! We put this in our 6s Kraton (aka Krator) and it is amazing! No issues with the bluetooth. It connects every time to my Samsung android phone. It is bigger than the stock motor and esc, but it just fits. I was also worried about fitting a heat sink and fans on the motor, but so far the motor seems to run pretty cool without! Hobbywing must have some magical wizardry going on in there! This is a great system so far. We need to get more packs through it, but it is very impressive!

It’s fair to say that if you have an Xmaxx and want a stock motor performance with a better built motor, this is the combo. I personally though thing the 5690 is ideal for the Xmaxx/xrt. Mild power boost so the diffs aren’t getting shredded, but still noticeably better than stock.
@DoRC9 ай бұрын
I have to disagree. I think you're going to get way above stock performance with this combo. The car I was testing this in weighs about 50% more than an X-Max and with the system has better performance than the stock X-Max. The original Max 6 gives you better performance than the stock system. This is significantly more powerful than the original Max 6.

It’s odd how the quick run series uses laminations on the rotors but the new max series is kevlar wrapped. Just wondering if you know why they chose to give the fancy rotor to the budget series and not the max g2?
@DoRC7 ай бұрын
Really not sure what caused them to do that. It's possible that whatever ODM there getting motors from just makes them that way but it's also possible that the steel encasement around the magnets reduces magnetic flux a little which would cause the motors to be slightly weaker and they want the G2 motors to be as strong as possible. That's really just a guess though.

@DoRC7 ай бұрын
Sure. The motor will only draw as much current as it is capable of regardless of how large of an ESC you put behind it. That being said you need to make sure that you take care not to exceed the maximum RPM of the motor by putting to higher voltage to it as that could physically blow it apart. The Max 5 G2 also has 8 mm terminals on it for the motor so you would have to swap out the stock 6.5 mm terminals on the 4278 if you're going to use that. I'm not sure how much advantage you would get out of them on such a small motor though cuz again it's the motor that determines the ultimate power output and once you reach that limit on the motor you're not going to get anything out of a larger ESC unless of course you're going higher voltage which again runs into that potential physical RPM limit though.
