Infraction with the Max 6 and 1650kv combo speed run - 117MPH (188kph) on 8S with 29/46 gearing

As the title says, 29/46 gearing since that’s the tallest without mods and without a spool running the Max 6 and 1650kv combo on 8S. The motor stayed at about 110°F with the dual 40mm fans. The ESC got to about 150°F. I’ll be adding a better fan soon.

amazing, i don't know how can you control (to much speed)or see the rc car lol, i put lights to all my rcs, it helps me with the orientation of the RC.

I should add lights, that would help tremendously on speed runs.

I just got the new g2 1650kv motor and pair it with the max5 on 6s I ran 93 I can’t wait to hit over 100+ like you!!! Great pass brother

Thanks! 93 is fast! 8S will certainly get you over 100MPH! I think on 6S with the 1650, I got 98MPH, but don’t quite remember.

@@kj4x4couple7 nice. That TP motor might make the Max 6 amp out quickly. I hear they draw a lot of power, but I’ve never tried a TP motor before so I don’t really know.

@@dgitalchaosyea I heard that too. But is only a 6s motor and the esc is a 8s capable so I’m hoping that I can do some good things out of it haha

It went from 98MPH on 6S to 117MPH on 8S with the Max 6 combo. The 106MPH was with all stock electronics.

I have a lot of people telling me the remote I have(which is the same as yours) needs to be upgraded for speed runs. What are your thoughts? They say the range is terrible.

I say test the range. I’ve been surprised by the distance of the stock radios. I find I usually hit top speed about 8 seconds into the run, so I adjust accordingly. I tried the RadioLink, but went out of range quicker than I thought and crashed my Felony 6S. Put the stock radio back and haven’t tried another brand. Plus the stock radio activates drag break when out of range instead of letting it coast to a stop like aftermarket radios.

Nice run. But i have to ask, you said you were running the stock 46 spur and the tallest pinion it can fit. That is a 27T, not a 29T. Isn't that the one provided by Arrma in the box? (The one for speed runs). The sum of the teeth -by adding the teeth of the spur and pinion is 73 on the stock motor mount. It cannot be more than that. And even for the Arrmas using 50 spur, those can fit maximum a 23t pinion. And linitless (having a 39t spur, it fits a 34t pinion - or a 34t spur and 39t pinion). Anyway, very nice runs!

I got my Infraction used, but it fits the 29T a little tight. You have to pry the motor away slightly while tightening to get the mesh right. My Typhon 6S I bought new, and also fits the 29T pinion. I don’t know where I got the 29T pinion from. I think it was sitting in my RC parts box from at least 6 years ago.

@@nicozev8723 hmm, and yours is the V2? I suppose they could have made the mounts a bit different from batch to batch. My buddy has an infraction as well, I’ll see if the 29T fits his when I get a chance to check it.

@@dgitalchaos i have a felony, but the motor mount is the same on all arrmas. Right now i just tried, and it barely fits the 28t, and it's tight as hell (not usable). Maybe your motor mount is an after market one?

How? I have the exact same set-up. Same tooth gears, same motor and esc combo and 8s, and my esc cut out at 83mph. What am I doing wrong?

@@dgitalchaos HOOVO 4s, 6200 Mah, 120c, EC5 plugs. So 2 of these for 8s.

@@grimyentertainment238 should certainly have the power. I was using stock motor timing, 6V on the BEC, stock punch settings. Center diff fluid was 200k. The only other thing I did was cut the wing to the lowest marks. Should take about 6 seconds for you to reach full throttle. Sooner than that will cause it to amp out.

It handles 8S very well, but motor fan are a must. As long as the motor doesn’t get hotter than 165°F constantly, you should be good to go.

No mods other than the Limitless motor mount and 56 series plate with the 5690 G2 motor. I don’t think the 1650kv motor needs a different mount.

@@carlosrubio7455 ah, I misunderstood. Usually people move the battery tray to fit a bigger motor. The Max 6 G2 fits on the ESC mount. I drilled 4 holes to match the mounting on the Max 6 G2, but people usually just use double sided RC tape.

I won’t be recommending RadioLink to anyone. I tried the RadioLink RC6G3 V3 with the R7FG receiver and my range was 800 feet, which caused me to damage my Felony body. I sent RadioLink two emails and never received a reply. I returned the RadioLink and 5 receivers to Amazon for a refund. Can I put this setup in the Kagama ??making it 8s?

I don’t have a Kagama, but it looks like it’ll fit as it has a similar setup as the Arrma 6S line. Not sure if the Kagama driveline could handle 8S without shredding the diffs. Again, I have zero experience with the Kagama.
