It's good to diversify your food sources not just because of their seasonal availability but because they all have individual caps - so you can have more food with both tomatoes and apples than with apples alone.

It bugs me that apple trees are spring crops, they are fall crops folks… plant in spring, takes a couple years, then fall harvest…
