It's time to present another new show on my channel. Here is a January 1977 episode of Double Dare. Alan is the current champion with $19,700 in cash. Can he win more? No copyright infringement is intended.

Why do I get the feeling that the four remaining spoiler clues were also going to be pretty obvious to prevent Alan from winning $25,200? :)

The winnings cap was $25,000 at the time, and actually you couldn't win $1 more than that. Sometime in the mid to late-1970's they changed that in which you could keep up to $10,000 over should you break the barrier for up to grand total of $35,000. That further changed as the Price is Right expanded to an hour in 1975, and in 1984 it was increased to $50,000. Even though Double Dare lasted from December 13th, 1976 to April 29th, 1977, they felt it would be unfair to cap the winnings at precisely $25,000. The fact that Alan was over $20,000 and had a shot at going over $25K was the factor. They decided that with that chance, it was going to be his last time. In all, he won $20,500 by defeating seven opponents, going up against the Spoilers 7 times, besting them 3 times, and was the only undefeated player in the show's history. A contestant named Ilene or Eileen in the final episodes nabbed a total of over $19K. She went up against the Spoilers 5 times, and beat them 3 times (3rd-4th-5th), and was one of the contestants on the final episode. Her opponent won $5,000 because he had the highest score when time ran out and no one had achieved $500 in the match. She had to face the infamous deleted expletive Dr. Ralph Doty.

they would used the double dare theme song for card sharks within the next year of 1978 and also when contestants ring in it's that sound is from Penny ante from the price is right

At the start of the Spoilers round, you can clearly hear the sound of the title panel being raised.

The theme song was too good not to be used on a more durable game (Card Sharks). Now if only I could watch the episode of Love of Life that followed this.
