▪️ As we can see a Spring Loaded Center Guide Presser Foot For 2-Needle Upholstery Sewing Machine is useful to get the flawless paralell line of stiches (6mm long) at a distance of 10 mm between them. There is blunt edge blade in the center of bigger foot which always remain in lower position following the central junction.
▪️ These stitches are called double stitches or french seams. For this demonstration I am using a double needle (140=22 needle size), post bed(6 inches high), walking foot Durkopp&Adler 268-FA-273 The leather material is 1.3 mm thick and I have not skived
its edges to do the sewing.
▪️ I consider this machine as a must in a professional upholstery shop. I know there are many upholsteres that can sew by eye ball perfectly straight. But not all of us have these skills, so it is advisable the double needle machine with the guide attachment.
▪️ BTW, the posts of these machines are adjustables and can be set to different measures to your requirements...1/2", 10mm, 5mm, etc. I hope you find this information inspirational and useful!
