I'm liking this, surprising that not many KZfaqrs explain this method so simply.

Howard, you're absolutely the best at teaching...I've learned alot from your tutorials and I admire the way that you're so generous with your time and effort to ensure that we get it. Thanx so much for simplifying and breaking down the details for all of us here.

I have been playing double stops on my Parlour Guitar for a while now but never given much thought as to how and where they are constructed from. This has opened my eyes a lot more. Thanks Howard.

Nice Howard! I like the way you break down and explain the use of double stops. A song that immediately came to my mind as you were doing them was "Brown Eyed Girl, by Van Morrison" Thank you, Tim

Howard… You once again have nailed it… I have watched so many guitar tutorials and yours are the best. Most talk forever and a day and then finally get to the lesson. Your tutorials get right to the point of the lesson. This was a rather easy lesson on double stops, but was far better than anyone else’s attempts at teaching them. If someone, anyone, didn’t know a thing about guitar playing and learned this lesson, they would look impressive…

Great lesson Howard, thanks. Minor point: at 16.48, you're playing 4 on the G string but notated 3 on the tab, just before the hammer-on lick.

Hey Howard, this lesson gained you another subscriber! Like others have said, I’ve watched many lessons on double stops but this one helped tremendously! I do have a question though, when you start the tune you’re playing, why not use the g barre instead of open chord? That way you’re already in position for the double stop.

Hi - The idea is to be able to "spot" the desired Double-Stop regardless of what fingering or inversion you might use (as each has a different sound) - Also: if you're just improvising a solo, and not playing the chords themselves, you have to know the double-stops in your 'minds eye' so to speak.

Brown eyed girl is the best song to apply this great lesson to 😊

I was thinking the same thing! I was playing the lead-in to ‘Brown Eyed Girl’, myself. (…_Old_ people think alike???)

A little tip: where Howard plays the D chord double stops but goes back to the C chord double stop while the D chord is still the backing chord, but just before chord progression moves to the C chord, is called _voice leading._ No doubt Howard will have a lesson on that too (and likely explain it better), but for now just remember you can do this to give the listener a taste of where the music is going next.
