Sure, there is pressure to build homes, but why pick virgin land, with no infrastructure, while there are areas outside the green belt that municipalities have already added the infrastructure? Why did property management companies who had land they recently bought,donate to the Conservatives and is now up for development? So many questions and so few answers from the Minister and Premier !

Everyone should ask Ford, Clark etc about this & also start asking the housing task force + related ministers/officials about if they stand by their report. Get the contradictions on record. Reporters should have known to ask this.

Also how come no reporters asked how dumping more unregulated supply would help anyone who wasn't exploiting housing as an asset class? That's been proved over + over to drive UP housing costs + rents on the markets, & increase scarcity on the bottom/middle.

it's 'nice' that they claim that they will through with 14/15 of the recommendations. BUT, they refuse to acknowledge the most important one, being the revaluation of the decision of selling the properties. Furthermore, if such lands were to be sold under normal circumstances, public bidding would be permitted not these corrupt land deals made with landowners' understanding of the instant increase in their property values. I think it's time for an election, a resignation, or federal intervention.

They should have never sold greenbelt to their friends. Nobody should be allowed to touch greenbelt. This is the problem with conservatives both provincial and federal. The government should be taken to court if they don’t reverse the land.

How many rentals is he building on the Greenbelt? How many rentals are his developer buddies building? He said that's what we need and that's what he's solving but i suspect we'll see expensive big houses built on this land so he's not actually addressing the problem he himself identified.

Bill 23 ensures developers do not have the burden of infrastructure costs to dampen their profits. The infrastructure costs will fall upon the Municipalities and Regional governments, to benefit for profit developers. Just as, Supporting Ontario's Recovery Act protects for profit owners of LTC homes from law suits, over deaths due to negligence of owners. eg Mike Harris
