Acclaimed self-help guru Doug Stanhope delivers a sermon on how to unlock the extraordinary healing power that lay in faith, goodwill, and unconditional love. Also, buy Doug's shit, you worthless cockmasters.

His ability to paint a picture is off the charts, you can basically smell whatever heinous scene he is describing. Him and Bill Hicks truly are, to use Bill's own phrase, "dark poets".

@JearbearjenkinsTotally agree with this, when I first discovered Stanhope I immediately felt the Hicks connection but the more of his material I heard, the more I thought he's Hicks 2.0, the upgraded version. The intricacy and density of his material outstrips Hicks, Stanhope is a true comedy revelation.

I always thought Doug was pretty funny, but I was a passive listener. The last two days I've been seriously exploring his material, and realize he's one of the greats. He really appeals to the bitter a$$hole in me who desperately misses George Carlin.

One thing that i adore the most about stanhope is the fact that his transitions are always masterfully done. Subjects are so seemlesly linked to each other, one never understands the change. All his shows are like one big story with many side stories. I seriously think that his story telling is simply the best in the whole of the comedy world.

US comics are unique in the sense that they try and explore peoples perceptions and challenge the norms. I love our British comedians because they discuss relatable things as a Brit myself, but some American comics offer a deeper and more satisfying listen and sometimes i can listen to these without even needing to laugh and just feel satisfied that someone else out there actually understands the frustrations of the normal switched on human being.

Fucking Stanhope is on FIRE here! Damned shame about the audio glitch in the last 10 minutes. Secondly, I'm a professional musician and have been on stage many times while tripping on various types of psychedelics, but, that was always in a band context, where I could lose myself in the music and other members of the band and, hell, a good chunk of the audience were all in the same headspace that I was. To go on stage alone as a comedian, especially one as truly edgy as Doug Stanhope, not only speaks to the size of his balls, but, also how comfortable, confident, and professional he is on that stage. He is a rare and precious voce in the world of comedy.

I usually have my top part clothed when listening to Stanhope. The bottom part is usually exposed with my left hand gripped around my fallus. Stanhope's voice while watching porn (on mute) was and will continue to be a soothing soundtrack, an accompaniment one might say, to the guilt-ridden indulgence into something as unproductive as porn, but he just somehow has the ability to silence those stupid voices in my head and generally adds to a very pleasurable and fun experience.
