I see where Chet gets his high pitch voice sounds just like Amy screaming.😂😂 Hope the knee gets better soon I’ve had three knee surgeries on one knee when I was in my 30’s and now at 62 the arthritis is getting bad so take care of your knee and I’m not looking forward to knee replacement. Hi Doug and Amy, I follow the farm channel give you a little FYI because Doug was sick.....peal 3 lemons 2 grapefruit place peals in 8 cups of Distilled water simmer 3 hrs. with cover on filter and jar it. Homemade Hydroxychloroquine. You can eat the grapefruit and use the lemon for cleaning....All natural take a shot a day no more sick day. Been doing this for 2 plus years works miracles. God Bless

I had a total knee replacement and walked out of the hospital 3 hours after surgery. Was on a walker for 2 days and then was told to walk as much as possible. 5 months later and scheduling the second knee replacement. Praying for your complete recovery Dougo and Amy...we men have been known to be a tad hard headed.

Amy,Doug Iv had the lateral meniscus tear a couple years ago it's no fun laying around the house ! All I can say is good luck and keep up with the pt and ice oh and keep it elevated !! Your neighbor to the north !

You just can't keep Doug down. A trip for baby chicks must also include a stop at Dairy Queen. Spring is just over the horizon, and will pounce on you right after Easter. Great job Amy. Keep the great stories, advice tips, and smiles and laughter coming.

Amy / Dougo , just a young 52yr old here. I've had my Clavicle blown apart , aka .. collar bone , at bout 43yrs old. Those physical therapist are worth every penny they earn , in my opinion. 16 weeks , or 4 months off work for an experiment surgery , was a set back , but my Lord , it was worth it. Batting 1000 now !!! Also , I combined a pain pill with a laxative , named it "IBRUPOOPEN" !! GET BETTER , MY FRIEND !

It's hard to keep a Dougo down! However I know and understand where he is coming from. For those of you who know, well, you know. Some of us guys get stir crazy sitting in the house, especially if you have a great shop to go to, and bonus, have a bunch of tractors in that shop. But Dougo, do try to slow down a bit. I can guarantee that if you reinjure that knee, it's going to be worse the second time around.

Hiya Dougo and Amy! I had a torn meniscus 15 years ago, and after they fixed it, my knee felt 20 years old again. The rest of my body now feels all of my 61 years, but my knee is still holding up. Bless you both on your way to recovery.

I had to have surgery on my knee years ago, but I chose to wait until the snow and especially the ice would be gone. I didn't want a chance slip on ice to set me back. Doug should watch for becoming too dependent on the brace, as that weakens the knee. I had to go with a soft brace that allowed the muscles to work, yet still gave the needed support. Being active is the best medicine, so long as things aren't pushed too hard. 17 years since mine and haven't had any hiccups yet. Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.

Hang in there Amy, hard to keep a good man down...as they say 👍 and Dougo doesn't seem like the type to sit still too long. Had to laugh when I seen the old candy lucky strike, I am Dougos age, born in 69, and I remember those things as a kid back in the day. Glad to see he is doing well itching to get back at it.

I just had my left arm worked on nerve entrapment in my elbow and my wrist two nice 5 inch incisions I had zero feeling in my palm and little and ring fingers and was loosing muscle in my hand so that was done on 3\22 got my sutchers out yesterday, stuck at home in the house for 5 days I know how you feel Dougo, heal up and get back to work!

Come on dough I am lot older than you in my mid 60s had both of my knees done for torn meniscus one at a time 6 weeks apart never used a crutch walked out of hospital same as I walked in but little bit of pain. I did evrything what I could following day and onwards. Don't sit down just get up and go do your thing what ever you can. My surgen was very happy that I didn't sit and waited to recover but just moved on. Good luck.

Have had both knees repaired (not at the same time) for a torn meniscus and was on the stationary bike in the afternoon after surgery both times - that motion made them feel great by getting all that lubrication going and reduced the swelling big time. I was about 56 at the time. 65 now and probably need a knee replacement for the left one - bless our hearts for getting old! Have used many a dress shirt for grease rags in my shop after I retired from my white collar engineering job - and the wife even knows about one or two of them!

He is used to being on the go, so understand being tied to a recliner is not the easiest. Amy you are doing great taking care of him. Dougo you listen to her and take care of yourself and that knee. I've been little harder on my Joints, had first knee surgery at 15 wrestling injury. At 60 last Fall have had 6 Replacement's done. Both shoulders and knees, Right angle and finger knuckle. The PT is most important thing. Best of luck and to Awesome Season.

I've had a couple meniscus tears, have two now, and ten year's ago i had acl reconstruction and a meniscus tear. The last meniscus tear, i didn't use crutches because i have progressive ms, and wasting muscles on my whole left side, so crutches wouldn't work. I can tell you i ditched the cold, and used a heating pad on my knee, because it brings more blood flow to the area, and makes it heal quicker. I had a dr. tell me all this, and he was right. G-d bless.

When you said, start in Doug's closet, I about died laughing. I just did that and started in my husbands also, he had the same response as your husband.

I had a full knee replacement October 5 2021 then had 2 be rushed in for emergency surgery exactly one month later on November 6th 2021 for 4 different infections in my knee. They had 2 go back in take everything back apart clean it flush out the knee put it back together and sew me up. Still today after 7 rounds of physical therapy I still walk around with my walker and cain still today.

You're the luckiest guy in the world that have a beautiful wife that's so understanding and puts up with you.😂

My wife had total knee replacement 12/20/21 spent 1 night in hospital cause she didn’t get out of recovery till after 9 pm. But she didn’t do exercises like she was and 2 month later had to go bad under and crack the scar tissue. Still complains about it. Surgery was 103k not count rehab 3 x a week for about 2 month. Glad my health insurance paid most of it.

Hang in there Doug. I had 10 knee surgeries over 40 years before I had them both replaced. In another week you will be glad you had it done.

Hi Mrs Larson l have just been watching your videos and I have found them very informative,I’m 45 years old Married to a wonderful wife and have 4 sons but in 2010 l had a work accident working as a plumber since then I’ve had five back operations and a spinal cord stimulator installed. I’m finding it very difficult to deal with the way my future has been taken away from me as l can no longer work life sucks sometimes but as you said we must keep going. Glad you are doing good. I had root meniscus repair. One in 2020 and one in 2021. Just be aware of how and where you step. Stairs was my hardest thing and still I have to be care going down stairs.

I’ve had 4 knee procedures over the years and a TKR…. Recovery is up to you. Just think positive and don’t baby it…. Walking is great therapy….

I have had the same thing and it sucks to laying around the house and just wait till pt starts.

Did he have arthroscopic surgery? I had mine done in the early 90s because my knee was locking up. They removed the cartilage which was rolled up in the joint and a fragment of bone about 3/4 inch wide and an inch long. That was done on a Friday. I went back to work on Monday. I had to see my doctor on Friday. He told me it was doing well and they would set up some physical therapy so I could go back to work. I told him I went back to work Monday. I had the other knee done a couple of years later. The arthroscopic surgery wasn't bad. Having the knees replaced 10 years later was a little rougher.

Look into the freeze sleeve gives you compression, intense cold for about 15min, then keeps the knee cold for another 15 to 20 mins, plus you can still walk around while icing.

I'm a guy and didn't or follow the directions I'm guessing. Had the same thing done to my knee. Other knee is no good. I sit in a chair 90 percent of the time and it's no fun. Atleast I found the whole Larson family to brighten up my day. Praying for Mr Larson and if he has to get a shot in his knee later on figure 48 hours of pain and no walking. Don't know how you folks deal with all that snow! Stay safe and take care!!!

I watch your farm ch a lot and just stumbled onto this episode, what a hoot I had neck surgery the same day as you. Mine is as yours probably work related although I just had the tips of a couple finger numb then one app led to another and well you know....
